Description
Mebuki Haruno is a kunoichi from Konohagakure, the wife of Kizashi Haruno and the mother of Sakura Haruno. She appears in the main Naruto Shippuden anime series and plays a significant role in Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie, where her character was designed by series creator Masashi Kishimoto. Mebuki is a tall woman with fair skin, blonde hair, and green eyes, often seen in a white qipao-style dress with red circular patterns. Her personality is kind and caring, as shown by her concern for Sakura, but she is also serious and stern, especially in contrast with her light-hearted husband Kizashi. She is a focused and orderly mother who wants a great future for her daughter, though her strictness can come across as dismissive; she openly questions Sakura's capabilities as a ninja, which causes tension between them. It is implied that Mebuki was unruly and possibly a gang member in her youth, and Sakura inherited her temper and quickness to violence. In the events of Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie, Mebuki and Kizashi are shown in the real world having an argument with Sakura about her potential, leading Sakura to feel frustrated and use Naruto as an excuse to leave. Later, after Sakura is trapped in the alternate reality of the Limited Tsukuyomi and eventually returns, she tearfully reunites with her parents, suggesting a reconciliation and a deeper appreciation for them. Mebuki's motivations center on ensuring Sakura's success, though her blunt and critical approach creates conflict. She is also a member of the Allied Mothers Force during the Fourth Great Ninja War, indicating her willingness to protect the village. Beyond being a kunoichi, no specific combat abilities or techniques are detailed, but her role is primarily as a parent whose relationship with Sakura is explored in the movie.
