Description
Takuya Yamamoto stands as one of Takemichi Hanagaki's childhood friends from Sakamoto Middle School, integral to the "Five Friends from Sakamoto Middle School" alongside Atsushi Sendo, Makoto Suzuki, and Kazushi Yamagishi. His bond with Takemichi traces back to elementary school, marking them as the duo with the longest shared history in the group.

During middle school, Takuya sports shoulder-length hair, long lower eyelashes, and prominent eyelids, wearing the standard Mizo Middle uniform. His slim frame and fragile constitution earn him a reputation as a pitiful fighter. Confronted by students from rival schools, he visibly hesitates—once suggesting evasion when facing second-years. When third-year Masataka Kiyomizu’s gang ambushes them instead, mocking their attempt to invoke Masaru’s name, Takuya endures a brutal beating. Despite his fear, he later participates in Kiyomizu’s fight club under duress, battling an opponent named Kojima until Takemichi disrupts the event.

Takuya’s loyalty consistently overrides his timidity. In the Moebius Arc, he rushes to aid Ken Ryuguji after Hinata Tachibana alerts Atsushi to danger. Arriving as Kiyomizu’s gang attacks Takemichi and Draken, Takuya is swiftly overwhelmed. Yet, inspired by Takemichi’s refusal to yield, he repeatedly rises to continue fighting until an ambulance arrives, revealing exceptional resilience when protecting friends.

After Takemichi ascends to Captain of Toman’s First Division, Takuya joins the Tokyo Manji Gang, adopting their uniform. He maintains a supportive, non-combative role yet engages in pivotal conflicts like the Tenjiku war, where he defeats several opponents, hinting at growth in his abilities.

Takuya’s appearance shifts over time: he crops his hair short in high school. In an alternate future as a Toman manager, his style hardens with chest and arm tattoos, an expensive watch, and a choker.

Beyond gang life, he favors supplements, avoids rice, and frequents the school infirmary. His image color is marine blue, and he wields level-four kendama skills. He deeply admires Hinata Tachibana for her unwavering devotion to Takemichi and dreams of becoming muscular. His special skill—knowing everything about Takemichi—stems from their enduring bond.

In the live-action adaptation, his absence post-"Bloody Halloween" is attributed to contracting the flu, coinciding with the actor’s real-world retirement.
