Description
Ken Ryūgūji, known as Draken, is the vice-president and co-founder of the Tokyo Manji Gang (Toman). Raised without traditional family in a Shibuya brothel, he developed strong independence, performing maintenance tasks and interacting with the women there while remaining detached from the establishment's core operations.
Exceptionally tall and muscular for his age at 185 cm (6'1"), Draken displays a distinctive dragon tattoo covering the left side of his shaved head. His blonde hair features a top braid with loose strands framing his face. He typically wears patterned long jackets casually and dons Toman's uniform during gang activities, bearing a scar on his left abdomen from a near-fatal stabbing.
Draken possesses a dual nature: fiercely combative yet deeply principled. He relishes challenging fights and openly scorns those he deems weak. Simultaneously, he acts as Toman's moral anchor, balancing Mikey's impulsiveness with maturity and logic. This compels Mikey to apologize to a victim's father and supports Pah-chin's acceptance of legal consequences. Despite his rationality, Draken's anger sometimes triggers violent outbursts. He avoids overt affection but demonstrates loyalty through actions like carrying a sleeping Mikey, waking him for school, and gifting Emma a carefully chosen plushie for her birthday.
His authority within Toman ranks second only to Mikey, though his influence is functionally equal. Draken commands member respect and bolsters morale in conflicts. His formidable combat prowess includes surviving a metal pole strike to the head and defeating 20 opponents immediately afterward. He overwhelms adversaries with raw power using punches and kicks, even against larger foes like South Terano. His strength falls short of Mikey's, proven by his inability to defeat Mikey even with allies. Beyond fighting, Draken possesses extensive motorcycle mechanical knowledge, easily repairing and assembling bikes while aspiring to operate a shop.
Draken's story involves multiple timelines altered by Takemichi Hanagaki's interventions. In the original timeline, he dies from a stab wound inflicted by Kiyomasa during a Moebius ambush, contributing to Mikey's descent. Takemichi prevents this death, allowing Draken to survive and maintain his stabilizing role. He later learns of Takemichi's time-leaping ability, verifying it through observed behavioral patterns. Following Toman's disbandment in one altered future, Draken co-owns a motorcycle shop with Seishu Inui. However, after Takemichi resolves to save Mikey from "dark impulses," Draken sacrifices himself, taking a fatal bullet meant for Takemichi. In his final moments, he expresses contentment at reuniting with Emma and entrusts Mikey's well-being to Takemichi.
Key relationships define Draken. He views Mikey as his most respected individual, serving as confidant and caretaker. His bond with Emma evolves into romantic affection, devastated by her death during the Tenjiku conflict. He initially dismisses Takemichi but grows to admire his unwavering resolve. Draken also maintains a rapport with the brothel women, offering them counsel.
His birthday is May 10, 1990. His favorite food is hot curry, his hobby muscle training, and he rides a Kawasaki Zephyr 400 motorcycle. In character polls, he ranks ninth in popularity and second in categories like "ideal husband" and "arm wrestling strength."
