Masaya Fukunishi is a Japanese voice actor born on February 24, 1995, in Nara Prefecture. He is affiliated with the talent agency Ken Production. His interest in becoming a voice actor began during his elementary school years, and as a teenager, he engaged in stage performances with friends. He is a Kansai dialect speaker.

Fukunishi's path to a professional voice acting career was marked by early recognition. In 2012, he won the Best Anime Scenario Award at the Seiyu Koshien competition. He was later selected in the voice actor category at the 3rd Seiyū Damashī in 2014. To hone his skills, he graduated from the School Duo training program.

His professional career began in earnest around 2015, with his first anime role being a small part in Seven Mortal Sins. For several years, he built a strong foundation by voicing numerous supporting and guest characters in a wide array of popular series. His filmography from this period includes roles in acclaimed shows such as Case Closed, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind, Cells at Work!, Attack on Titan, Banana Fish, My Hero Academia, and Jujutsu Kaisen. A significant turning point in his career came in 2021 when he was chosen to take over the role of Gege in the live-action television series Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger. This was followed in 2022 by another high-profile succession, as he began voicing Ken Ryūgūji, also known as Draken, in Tokyo Revengers. In both instances, he succeeded actor Tatsuhisa Suzuki following the latter's career hiatus.

The year 2021 was also notable for other major roles, including Ryu in the critically acclaimed series Megalobox 2: Nomad and Sumida in Blue Period. He continued to expand his range with parts in various other projects.

Fukunishi's first leading role came in 2024 when he was cast as the protagonist, Kafka Hibino, in the hit anime adaptation of Kaiju No. 8. This role brought him significant international attention, and he was a guest at Anime Expo 2024 to promote the series.
