Description
Ryohei Hayashi, universally recognized as Peh-yan, holds significant standing in the Tokyo Manji Gang. He initially serves as the Third Division Vice-Captain and later steps into the role of interim captain. Physically, he cuts an imposing figure: tall and lean, sporting short blonde or light brown hair typically buzzed short. His distinctive golden eyes intensify an inherently intimidating presence, while his facial expressions often blend fierceness with a trace of underlying sadness.

Peh-yan's personality is marked by a volatile temper and overt aggression, coupled with a recognized lack of intelligence—a trait he occasionally embraces. Yet beneath this lies profound loyalty, especially towards his closest friend, Haruki Hayashida (Pah-chin). This fierce protectiveness surfaces dramatically during Pah-chin's confrontation with Nobutaka Osanai. Over time, Peh-yan develops a sense of humor and commits to honorable combat, rejecting underhanded tactics after remorse over his betrayal following Pah-chin's arrest signals a maturation from raw aggression to principle-driven conflict.

In combat, Peh-yan wields exceptional physical strength, noted to exceed even high-ranking members like Takashi Mitsuya. His fighting style hinges on devastatingly straightforward punches capable of single-blow knockouts, exemplified by his defeat of Tenjiku elite Shion Madarame during the Kanto Incident. He demonstrates remarkable feats of power, such as lifting and throwing multiple opponents. However, he faces limitations against top-tier fighters like Izana Kurokawa, who incapacitates him instantly. His stamina enables him to engage large groups, reportedly defeating over thirty delinquents at once.

Peh-yan's roots trace to Shibuya Second Middle School, forging enduring bonds with Pah-chin and Mitsuya. His gang role evolves significantly: following Pah-chin's imprisonment, he defects temporarily in anger over perceived abandonment, but returns upon learning of Ken Ryuuguuji's continued support. This experience solidifies his unwavering loyalty. He later transitions to the Second Division after restructuring by Tetta Kisaki. He remains a key combatant in pivotal conflicts like Blood Halloween and the Tenjiku battle. Tragically, in one timeline, he and Pah-chin are killed during a hostage situation involving Takemichi Hanagaki and Chifuyu Matsuno.

As an adult, Peh-yan abandons delinquency, building a career in real estate alongside Pah-chin. His personal life stabilizes through marriage to a former classmate, their relationship initially contentious. His appearance refines, featuring expensive clothing and round glasses. Despite this shift, he remains connected to his past, participating in the final battle to support Pah-chin against Manjirou Sano. After Pah-chin's defeat, his attempt to intervene ends in his own overpowering.
