Description
Alauda is a character from the anime series Last Exile: Fam, The Silver Wing, serving as the top intelligence agent and primary assassin for the Ades Federation. He operates directly under the command of Premier Luscinia Hāfez, to whom he is deeply loyal and implied to be a twin brother, though this is never explicitly confirmed within the series. Alauda and Luscinia are both descendants of the Guild known as the "White," and they originally served as bodyguards to Farahnāz Augusta, the queen of the Ades Federation.

A decade before the main events of the story, Alauda was a notably different individual. During the Grand Race, he was talkative, sociable, and understanding, often acting as a gentle mediator for his more introverted and somber brother. He was seen advising Luscinia to smile so as not to frighten the young Princess Millia and was capable of warm, brief smiles himself. This demeanor changed drastically after he and Luscinia failed to protect Augusta Farahnāz from assassins. Haunted by the guilt of being the sole survivors of that incident, Alauda underwent a profound personality shift. The once-outgoing individual became a silent, expressionless assassin, seemingly swapping personalities with Luscinia, who grew into a charismatic and skilled politician. In this later state, Alauda rarely speaks and displays almost no emotion, maintaining a stoic and blank expression even in his final moments.

His primary motivation is an unshakable commitment to Luscinia and their shared goal of atonement for surviving the day their queen was killed. He believes completely in his brother's ideals and plans for the world, serving not as an advisor but as a loyal instrument of Luscinia's will, carrying out his orders without question. He supports Luscinia's military rule entirely from the shadows, taking on the most dangerous and morally ambiguous tasks.

In his role within the Federation's military campaign, Alauda is responsible for several pivotal acts. Most notably, during the battle over the Kingdom of Turan, he single-handedly infiltrated the Turan battleship Lasas, murdered the entire bridge crew, and successfully kidnapped the First Princess, Liliana il Grazioso Merlo Turan. This act serves as a major catalyst for the series' conflict. He is a constant, menacing presence, enforcing Luscinia's decrees with lethal precision.

Alauda possesses abilities that mark him as a former agent of the Guild. He is an exceptionally skilled hand-to-hand combatant and assassin, capable of moving with superhuman agility, including performing anti-gravity leaps. His signature weapon is a solid, dual-bladed red device that can be extended or retracted at will, with blades that can range from ten centimeters to approximately three meters in length, functioning similarly to a lightsaber. He bears the Greek letter Psi (Ψ) engraved on his forehead, the significance of which is unknown. His Guild heritage is also reflected in his physical appearance, which includes pointed ears.

Despite his fearsome reputation, Alauda's story ends in defeat. During a final assignment to infiltrate the Silvius and eliminate its crew, he engaged in a duel with Dio Eraclea, a former Guild agent and the brother of the late Maestro Delphine. In this confrontation, Alauda was ultimately killed, bringing his silent service to an end. His character serves as a tragic figure of unwavering loyalty and guilt, transformed from a warm individual into a cold, nearly robotic instrument of his brother's ambitions.
