Description
Azusa Hanai is a first-year student and the captain of the Nishiura High School baseball team. He is the tallest member of the team, standing at 181 cm, and has a shaved head, though this is often hidden by his cap. As a player, he is right-handed and holds multiple positions, primarily serving as the right fielder and the cleanup hitter, but he is also capable of acting as a relief pitcher or catcher when necessary.
Hanai comes to Nishiura with a solid baseball background, having been the cleanup hitter and captain of his middle school team. His deep interest in the sport was fostered from a young age by his mother, an avid baseball fan. Initially, he was reluctant to join the newly formed Nishiura team. This hesitation stemmed partly from a disillusionment with his past baseball experiences and partly from skepticism about having a female coach, Maria Momoe.
