Description
Shūji Miwa serves as captain of Miwa Squad and the No. 3 All-Rounder in Border’s defense forces, driven by vengeance after Neighbors killed his older sister. His hostility manifests in aggressive actions against Neighbors and their allies, including attempts to assault Yūma Kuga upon discovering his origins and opposing factions like Tamakoma Branch that seek diplomatic relations.

He sports neck-length black hair, sienna-brown eyes, and a gakuran-style school uniform paired with a burgundy scarf in winter. Combat attire includes a black underlayer, gray flak jacket, padded gloves, and boots. Reserved and laconic, he maintains a stern exterior masking unresolved trauma, briefly destabilized when Yūma’s Border enlistment forced him to confront contradictions in his vendetta.

Notable missions include the Black Trigger Capture Arc, where he pursued Yūma’s Trigger and clashed with Jin Yūichi and Arashiyama Squad. Arashiyama’s revelation of Jin’s personal losses to Neighbors highlighted parallels in their pasts, challenging Miwa’s black-and-white perspective. During the Large-Scale Invasion Arc, he strategically assisted Osamu Mikumo against Hyrein, leveraging Fūjin’s power and prior battle experience despite his disdain for collaboration.

His rigid antagonism gradually shifts toward pragmatic alliances, exemplified by cooperating with Replica during the invasion. Combat relies on Lead Bullet to immobilize foes and a SIG Sauer P229R-style firearm. Personal trivia includes favoring zaru soba, sashimi, and cookies, alongside dubbing Replica “Beanspeck.”

Ideological conflicts define his interactions, particularly with Jin and Tamakoma members he deems traitors for their Neighbor-tolerant policies. Though fiercely independent in purpose, he rigorously follows Border’s chain of command, seeking authorization before major actions. His journey reflects the tension between grief-driven vengeance and the evolving moral ambiguities of inter-dimensional warfare.
