Description
Nagi Dài Artai is the Grand Duke of the Principality of Artai in the anime My-Otome. He is a tall man with long silver hair that reaches his waist and pink eyes, often dressed in a striking white outfit trimmed with gold and silver. Nagi carries himself with an air of confidence and elegance, which complements his role as a skilled political strategist and manipulator.

His personality is defined by a sharp, teasing nature, particularly toward Mashiro, the ruler of Windbloom. He seems to know exactly which buttons to press to provoke a reaction, and from their first meeting, when he asked if she was the "fake princess of Windbloom," the two develop a love-hate relationship. Nagi eventually proposes marriage to Mashiro, a move that is part of his larger ambition to use her power to rule the world. He is a classical antagonist whose primary goal is to revive the ancient civilization of Al-Warth and become the supreme ruler of the world, and he is willing to go to great lengths to achieve this.

To further his plans, Nagi assembles an army of rogue Otome who hold grudges against the kingdom of Windbloom and the Garderobe academy. The only exception among his forces is Nina, who serves as his bound Otome. He manipulates events to pit Nina against her friend Arika, forcing them into conflict. In the end, both Nina and Arika refuse to continue fighting due to their friendship, and the war halts. Following this, Nagi is taken into custody.

His key relationships include his right-hand man, Major Sergay, who assists him militarily, and his tense but flirtatious dynamic with Mashiro. He is also the master of Nina, using her as a tool in his schemes. Nagi’s development in the anime shows him as a charming and credible ally at first, gradually revealing his true ambitions until he is ultimately thwarted and imprisoned.

In the manga version, Nagi’s character takes a different turn. He is genuinely in love with Mashiro, unaware that the princess is actually a boy. When the truth is revealed during an attack by Sergay, Nagi accepts it unconditionally, stating that Mashiro’s gender does not matter to him. He is killed shortly afterward by Sergay, and later appears in an afterlife scene alongside the true princess Mashiro, watching over the living characters.

Nagi’s notable abilities lie in his strategic mind, his knack for psychological manipulation, and his political acumen. He uses charm and intellect to recruit followers and orchestrate complex plots, making him a formidable and compelling antagonist.
