Description
Emary Ounce is a character from the Universal Century timeline, appearing in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. She serves as the acting captain of the La Vie en Rose, a supply and repair ship affiliated with the Anti-Earth Union Group. By occupation, Emary is a talented employee of the Anaheim Electronics company, where she works as a mechanic and technical advisor. Her technical skills are demonstrated through her role in overseeing the repair, maintenance, and resupply of the Argama, a key warship for the AEUG. Born in U.C. 0067, Emary is 22 years old during the events of the First Neo Zeon War. She has blonde hair and blue eyes, with a height of 176 centimeters and a weight of 50 kilograms.

Emary is depicted as a friendly, hardworking, and likable individual who tends to get along well with most people she meets. Her personality is also noted to have a somewhat lazy or laid-back side, though she becomes resolute and capable when the situation demands it. Her primary motivation throughout the story is her dedication to her work and her growing emotional attachment to Bright Noa, the captain of the Argama. This personal affection becomes a significant part of her character arc, as she develops clear romantic feelings for Bright. She makes her love for him apparent, leading to several awkward moments between them. However, Bright, while clearly caring for her, does not reciprocate her feelings romantically, as he remains committed to his wife, Mirai Yashima. In one notable incident, Emary falls and is captured by the enemy, and Bright chooses to be captured alongside her rather than escape, ensuring she would not be alone.

Within the story of Gundam ZZ, Emary’s role is that of a support provider. She uses the La Vie en Rose to supply and back up the Argama and later the Nahel Argama during their missions against Haman Karn’s Neo Zeon. She also plays a key part in the delivery of the ZZ Gundam’s components. Her most significant act occurs near the conclusion of the First Neo Zeon War. When the Nahel Argama comes under devastating attack from the massive mobile suit NZ-000 Queen Mansa, piloted by Ple Two, Emary takes command of the situation. She orders the La Vie en Rose to intercept the attack, using the ship itself as a physical shield to protect the Nahel Argama. Before the ship is destroyed, she successfully evacuates her entire crew. However, Emary remains on board and is killed when the La Vie en Rose is consumed by a barrage of beam fire. In her final moments, she shouts Bright Noa’s name. Her death occurs on January 1, U.C. 0089. In terms of abilities, Emary is not a mobile suit pilot. Her notable skills are her expertise in mobile suit and ship mechanics, her competence as a commanding officer of a frontline support vessel, and her ability to make rapid, self-sacrificial tactical decisions under extreme pressure.
