Description
Hazuki Fujiwara is a central character in the fourth and final season of the anime Ojamajo Doremi DOKKAAN!. Her background establishes her as the childhood friend of the main protagonist, Doremi Harukaze, with their friendship dating back to kindergarten. Hazuki comes from a wealthy family and has received a structured upbringing that emphasized good manners and ladylike behavior. This environment, while loving, contributed to her initial difficulty in expressing her own feelings openly, as she often prioritized making others happy over her own desires to avoid disappointing them, particularly her mother.

In terms of personality, Hazuki is the gentle and sensitive counterpart to her more impulsive best friend. She is consistently portrayed as shy, smart, and proper, excelling in her academic studies and various cultural activities such as ballet and playing the violin. Despite her refined upbringing, she is not spoiled or arrogant. A very notable and recurring character trait is her extreme and comical fear of ghosts and anything related to the supernatural; when frightened, she often panics and shouts the name of her witch mentor, Majo Rika, as a coping mechanism. While generally passive and cautious about others' feelings, she possesses a deep sense of justice and can become surprisingly stubborn or assertive when confronting something she perceives as wrong. She also has a unique sense of humor, finding pleasure in jokes that others consider silly or unfunny.

Hazuki's primary motivation throughout the story revolves around her desire to maintain her cherished friendships and to gain the confidence to be true to herself. Her role begins when she, along with her friend Aiko Senoo, discovers Doremi's secret identity as a witch apprentice. To prevent Doremi from being turned into a witch's helper, Hazuki willingly becomes an apprentice witch herself. As the Orange Witch Apprentice, her magical abilities are a significant part of her identity; her transformation chant is "Pretty Witch Hazuki tchi!" and her standard spell incantation is "Paipai Ponpoi Puwapuwa Puu!" She is often portrayed as a naturally skilled and careful spellcaster. Her fairy partner, who assists her with magic, is named Rere.

Her relationships are central to her development. The bond she shares with Doremi is one of deep trust and mutual support, though their differing personalities can sometimes lead to minor clashes. She develops a close friendship with Aiko, initially finding her a bit rude before recognizing her underlying kindness. Hazuki shares a harmonious and mature connection with Onpu Segawa and forms a friendship with Momoko Asuka after an awkward start, bonding over their shared timidness. She is also shown to be nurturing and motherly, particularly when the group cares for the magical baby Hana. In terms of romance, Hazuki harbors long-standing affection for her childhood friend Masaru Yada, who once comforted her. She occasionally attracts the attention of other boys, such as Fujio from the band FLAT4, feelings which she does not reciprocate. Another significant figure in her life is Baaya, her family's maid, who acts as a kind and wise confidante.

The series traces a clear arc of development for Hazuki. She begins as a very passive girl who struggles to voice her true feelings, often simply agreeing with what her mother plans for her. Through her experiences as a witch apprentice and the unwavering support of her friends, she learns to become more confident and honest. A major milestone in her growth is finally being able to communicate her true feelings clearly to her mother. By the events of DOKKAAN!, she has become more self-assured while retaining her inherent kindness and gentleness. Her notable abilities beyond magic include a talent for playing the violin and composing music, which becomes a significant part of her future aspirations.
