Tomoko Akiya is a Japanese voice actress and former model born on May 14, 1976, in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Before entering the voice acting industry, she worked as a model and was involved with CF (commercial film) model-related事务.

Her debut and most defining role came in 1999 when she was cast as Hazuki Fujiwara in the long-running magical girl anime series Ojamajo Doremi. This character, a shy and gentle girl from a wealthy family and the best friend of the protagonist, became a signature role for Akiya. She reprised the role of Hazuki across the entire franchise, including its sequels Mo~tto! Ojamajo Doremi, various OVAs, and the 2020 anniversary film Looking for Magical DoReMi, which brought the original cast back together. Her performance as Hazuki remains her most prominent and enduring work.

Following her success in Ojamajo Doremi, Akiya continued to work primarily in anime produced by Toei Animation. In 2003, she landed another significant role as Suzy Mizuno (水野鈴芽), the kind-hearted classmate of the main character, in the popular series Zatch Bell! (Konjiki no Gash Bell!!). She also voiced the character in the 2004 film Zatch Bell! 101st Devil. Another notable leading role came in 2011 when she played Yui Kōnagi (光凪由衣) in the series Dream Eater Merry.

Akiya's filmography includes a variety of other roles across television, film, and video games. She appeared as Miss Keane (基妮老师) in the Japanese adaptation Powerpuff Girls Z (2006) and as Sophita in Casshern Sins (2008). In 2010, she had a role in the series Oreimo (My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute). She also voiced Myrtle Perkins in the 2009 film Chocolate Underground.

In addition to her voice acting, Akiya has contributed to character song albums for several of the series she has been involved in, including solo collections for her Ojamajo Doremi character Hazuki Fujiwara, as well as songs for Zatch Bell! and Dream Eater Merry. Over the course of her career, she has been affiliated with different talent agencies, including Stardust Promotion and, for a period from 2007 to 2008, KeKKe Corporation.
