Description
Kaoru Seo is a twenty-five-year-old freelancer who serves as the Ashikabi for the Sekirei twins, Hikari and Hibiki. Physically, he is a tall and lean-built man, standing at 185 centimeters. His appearance is often described as rough and wild, characterized by his shaggy brown hair, grey eyes, and unkempt stubble. His typical attire consists of a white undershirt, sometimes paired with a brown jacket, and blue jeans.
Seo generally presents a confident and laid-back demeanor, although this can give way to arrogance or violence when he loses his composure. He has a notably perverse personality, which includes a tendency to touch the breasts of Sekirei, whether his own or those belonging to other Ashikabi. This behavior, along with his habit of visiting the Izumo Inn to eat for free when he is low on money, has earned him a very low opinion from the inn's landlady, Miya Asama. She frequently refers to him as trash or scum to his face and threatens him when he becomes annoying. In these situations, his own Sekirei, Hikari and Hibiki, are often left to apologize for his behavior.
Despite this rough exterior and irresponsible streak, Seo is fundamentally a good and dependable person. He is an excellent cook, having even taught Miya in the past. He is also openly opposed to the machinations of the Mid Bio Informatics corporation, or MBI, and its CEO, Minaka Hiroto. This opposition forms a core part of his motivation. Though he could choose to withdraw from the Sekirei Plan, he refuses to do so, driven by a desire to prevent the powerful Jinki from falling into the wrong hands. This commitment stems from a wish to protect the dreams and hopes of his deceased friend, Takehito Asama.
Seo's role in the story is that of a supporting ally to the protagonist, Minato Sahashi. He is immediately aware that Minato is an Ashikabi but strikes up a friendship with him regardless, summarizing his feelings by stating he liked Minato from the start for some reason. He aids Minato on several occasions, including helping to rescue the young Sekirei Kusano and supporting a plan to help two other characters escape the capital. His history is deeply tied to Takehito Asama, Miya's late husband, as they were friends from their university days. Seo also built the secret room within the Izumo Inn that the Sekirei Matsu uses as her hideout.

This ability allows him to cancel a Sekirei's powers through physical contact, as demonstrated during a brief confrontation with the Sekirei Tsukiumi and in his first meeting with another Ashikabi named Sanada Nishi.
