Description
B't X is a fictional mechanical entity from the Japanese anime and manga franchise, specifically classified as a B't, a type of advanced, sentient fighting machine. His physical form is that of a kirin, a mythological chimeric creature, which in his case is distinguished by a metallic body and bull-like horns. Originally created by the antagonistic Machine Empire, X was once hailed as their most powerful and formidable B't. However, for reasons that remain largely undisclosed, he was ultimately decommissioned, deemed obsolete, and unceremoniously discarded in a vast, desolate junkyard.

X's existence changes forever when he is discovered by the protagonist, Teppei Takamiya. After Teppei is attacked by Empire forces and his blood splatters onto X's damaged and inert frame, a powerful, life-sustaining device known as the BreakHeart is activated. This mechanism creates an unbreakable symbiotic bond between the B't and his blood donor, forging a partnership that is as much a matter of survival as it is of destiny.

In the beginning, X's personality is as hard and unyielding as his metal body. He is characterized by a deep-seated arrogance and a dismissive attitude towards Teppei, whom he initially views as weak, naive, and a liability. His primary motivation is self-preservation, and he is reluctant to cooperate, seeing his forced partnership with a human as an inconvenience. This creates significant conflict between the two, as their clashing personalities and priorities threaten to undo their fledgling alliance. Despite his abrasive nature, X is defined by a strong will and a sense of pride from his past as the Empire's strongest warrior.

As the narrative progresses, X’s role evolves from a reluctant tool of escape to a central figure in the battle against the Machine Empire. His primary mission becomes aiding Teppei in his quest to rescue his older brother, Kotaro, who has been kidnapped by the Empire. This journey forces X to confront his own past and the empire that discarded him. A pivotal moment in his development occurs when he suffers critical damage in a battle against an enemy named Metalface. This near-destruction proves to be a turning point, as he is resurrected and rebuilt by the Spirit General Hokuto and his own B't, Max. This experience not only grants X new physical abilities but also cements a profound, unwavering loyalty to Teppei, transforming their initially hostile relationship into one of deep mutual devotion and respect. Their bond is famously symbolized by the concept of being "buddies," a term that signifies a perfect, inseparable synergy between a human and their B't.

X's key relationships are primarily defined by this bond with Teppei. Their interdependence is such that Teppei's willpower and courage directly fuel X's strength, while X's Guard System is capable of shielding Teppei from extreme environmental hazards like the vacuum of space or molten magma, provided they remain in physical contact. Another significant, though indirect, relationship is with the former Spirit General Karen, who was X's original partner before his decommissioning. This connection adds a layer of history and complexity to the narrative. X also forges alliances with other reformed enemies, such as the Spirit Generals, who become crucial allies in the final confrontations.

X possesses a formidable array of abilities that make him a master of aerial combat. His reconstructed form unlocks dormant wings on his sides, granting him the power of high-speed flight, which he frequently uses to joust with enemy B'ts in the sky. His signature technique is the Prism of Aura, a devastating multi-spectrum light-based attack that serves both offensive and defensive purposes, often manifesting as a powerful battle aura. When Teppei uses his Messiah Fist to issue the "Battle Gear" command, X can generate a protective suit of armor for his partner, significantly enhancing their combat synergy and activating X's full mobility. Their ultimate combined attack, the Break Heart, is a manifestation of their bond, merging Teppei's personal energy directly with X's systems to deliver a decisive blow.
