Description
Momiji Teruyama is a young man in his early twenties who appears as a primary character in the story. He is a Needless, a human with superhuman abilities known as fragments, and his fragment grants him control over fire. His appearance is marked by short, spiky orange hair and green eyes, and he stands approximately one meter and sixty-eight centimeters tall.

Teruyama’s background is rooted in loss and a desire for vengeance. He was originally an enemy of Adam Blade, believing Blade to be responsible for the deaths of his comrades. This mistaken belief drives his initial motivation: to avenge his fallen friends by defeating Blade. However, after confronting Blade and being easily beaten, Teruyama discovers that the true culprit is Adam Arclight, the leader of the organization Simeon. This revelation shifts his perspective and his goal, leading him to abandon his vendetta against Blade and instead seek retribution against Arclight.

His personality is characterized by a fierce, battle-hungry nature, though he is somewhat less eccentric than Adam Blade. Teruyama is earnest and direct, and he displays a noticeable quirk: other characters frequently refer to him by the wrong name, Uchida, and he consistently corrects them. Despite his initial hostility, he is capable of forming alliances and proving himself a loyal companion once the real enemy is identified.

In the story, Teruyama serves as a supporting character who transitions from an antagonist to an ally. His role involves joining Adam Blade and the group that forms around him, contributing his combat abilities to their fight against Simeon and Adam Arclight. His key relationships center on Adam Blade, whom he initially fights but later respects and fights alongside, and Adam Arclight, the true object of his vengeance.

Development occurs as Teruyama moves from being driven solely by revenge to becoming a more integrated member of the team. After his defeat and the revelation of the truth, he learns to redirect his anger and channel it into a collaborative effort. His abilities also grow over time; his fire-based fragment is versatile and capable of multiple techniques. Following a resurrection, the power output of his fragment increases, making him even stronger in battle.

Notable abilities include his fire manipulation, which he uses for both offense and tactical applications. The fragment, shared in different forms by several characters in the series, is known for its wide range of variations. Teruyama’s mastery of this fragment allows him to fight effectively alongside more powerful Needless.
