Description
Megumi "Meg" Natsu, a middle school student with a gentle and polite demeanor, stands out with her vivid red hair styled in tornado-shaped curled twintails—a look she later adapts into sleeker twintails inspired by an admired older peer. Initially 145cm tall, she undergoes a dramatic growth spurt, reaching 152cm by high school, surpassing her close friends to become the tallest after years as the group’s shortest. Her evolving appearance reflects maturity, often clad in a sailor-style uniform or borrowed work attire from part-time roles.

Shy yet trusting, Megumi’s naivety makes her susceptible to peer influence, though she actively strives for self-improvement, idolizing an older friend as an "ideal sister" and role model. Despite viewing herself as ordinary next to her quirky peers, she harbors unexpected talent in ballet and hip-hop, rooted in childhood lessons under her ballet-teacher mother. Though stage fright once led her to abandon dance, she rediscovers it through assisting her mother’s classes and impulsive dance bursts sparked by music.

Academically, she bonds with classmates Chino Kafu and Maya Joga, forming the ChimaMame Squad. The trio frequently supports Chino through moments of isolation, with Megumi offering perceptive empathy. Driven to grow, she secures admission to a prestigious high school attended by her idol, aided by mentorship and part-time work at two cafés, balancing responsibilities to gain independence.

Occasionally, her sensitivity to alternate realities triggers brief "swaps" with a futuristic self, plunging her into sci-fi Tokyo or distant futures—episodic glimpses of adaptability that remain tangential to her core journey.

Relationships define her: she uses "-san" honorifics for older peers, reserving a unique "-chan" for her idol, shares playful weight-teasing banter with Maya, and studies diligently alongside Chiya Ujimatsu. Family ties to ballet intermittently reconnect her to dance, while her personal quest revolves around self-discovery through diverse experiences.

Notably, her name derives from "nutmeg" (Natsumegu), occasionally misread as "Natsue." Her physical and emotional growth—from shortest to tallest, timid to cautiously assertive—mirrors her journey toward balancing innate kindness with budding confidence as she navigates adolescence.
