TV-Series
Description
Kevin Dragonfly, known in the original Japanese version as Ryuugo Someoka, is a supporting character in the Inazuma Eleven series. He is a student at Raimon Middle School and plays as a forward, wearing the number eleven jersey for his school team. As one of the first members to join the Raimon soccer club after it was re-established, he is considered a founding player and initially views himself as the team's ace striker.

Kevin has a distinct appearance characterized by his short pink hair, tanned skin, and a mole located under his left eye. He is notably tall compared to others his age. His expression often appears serious or grim, which can make him seem intimidating at first glance. This outward appearance aligns with his personality, as he is known for having a sharp tongue and a quick temper, often getting angry easily. However, beneath this tough exterior lies a loyal friend and a dedicated player who is genuinely kind and sincere with those he trusts. In the world of fan discussion, he is often described as a classic example of a male tsundere due to this contrast between his prickly demeanor and his warmer, more vulnerable interior.

Kevin’s motivations are deeply rooted in his pride as a striker and his love for soccer. He is an incredibly hard-working and persevering individual who believes in earning his place through effort. This drive often manifests as jealousy or resistance when a new, highly talented forward joins the team. He had significant trouble accepting the arrival of Axel Blaze, a genius striker whose natural talent overshadowed Kevin's own abilities. He felt inferior and became obsessed with developing his own special technique to prove himself. Later, when Axel left the team and a new forward named Shawn Froste was brought in, Kevin initially refused to accept him, believing the position of ace striker rightfully belonged to Axel. This pattern reveals that his prickliness is not born of malice but from a deep-seated insecurity about being replaced or deemed not good enough. Nevertheless, he overcomes these feelings each time, demonstrating his capacity for growth and his ultimate commitment to the team's success. He learns to combine his power with theirs, creating powerful combination moves.

In the story, Kevin serves as a consistent offensive force for Raimon. While not always the most flashy or talented player on the field, his relentless training allows him to develop several powerful hissatsu techniques, which are special moves. His signature solo techniques evolve over time, starting with Dragon Crash, which upgrades to Wyvern Crash, and finally to the powerful Dragon Slayer. He also develops combination techniques with the very players he initially resented. With Axel Blaze, he forms the powerful shot Dragon Tornado, and with Shawn Froste, he creates Wyvern Blizzard. This willingness to adapt and cooperate is a key part of his role, as he moves from being the lead striker to a supportive second striker who can deliver crucial goals and assists.

Kevin's development is marked by his struggles with self-worth and his journey to find his place on a team filled with prodigies. His arc includes a period of darkness. After being sidelined due to an injury, he is corrupted by the power of the Aliea Rock and becomes a member of the Dark Emperors, an antagonistic team made up of former Raimon players. Under this influence, he becomes a more aggressive and powerful player, but he is ultimately freed from its control by the passion and friendship of his teammates. Later, when the national team Inazuma Japan is formed, Kevin does not initially make the cut. However, his persistence pays off, and he is later added to the roster to cover for an injured player. This allows him to compete on the world stage, solidifying his status as a national-level player.

Kevin's story continues beyond the original series. He reappears in Inazuma Eleven GO as a professional soccer player active in the Italian leagues. In this role, he becomes a mentor to a young player named Ryoma Nishiki, showing how he has matured from an insecure student into a confident and skilled professional who can now guide the next generation.
