TV-Series
Description
Edgar Valtinas is a supporting character in the Inazuma Eleven series, serving as the forward and captain of the Knights of Queen, the English national youth soccer team. He is a tall young man with fair skin, long light blue hair that covers his right eye, and blue eyes. He usually keeps his hair tied in a small pigtail at the back. He is almost always seen wearing his team's uniform with the captain's armband, though he has also been shown wearing a formal silvery-white tuxedo.

Edgar has a personality that combines quiet confidence with a prideful and somewhat arrogant demeanor, particularly toward those he initially perceives as inferior. This is most evident in his first interactions with Endou Mamoru, whom he openly insults and challenges to prove his own superiority. Despite this cold and cynical exterior, Edgar is a brave leader who takes immense pride in representing his country and is deeply committed to leading his team to victory. He plays soccer not merely to win, but for the honor of his nation. Beneath his haughty surface, he has a notable soft and gentlemanly side, especially when interacting with ladies. He behaves with politeness and charm, treating women with a knightly courtesy that aligns with his overall aesthetic and demeanor.

Edgar's primary motivation is to succeed on the world stage of the Football Frontier International tournament. He seeks to prove the strength of English soccer and is driven by a desire to face and overcome formidable opponents from across the globe. His role in the story begins as a rival to the main team, Inazuma Japan. He first appears at an opening ceremony and later hosts a party for the Japanese team, where he insults Endou's lack of sophistication. To make his point, he challenges Endou to block his signature shot, Excalibur, which he easily scores with, surprising Endou who reacts with excitement rather than discouragement. In the subsequent group stage match, Edgar leads his team with two powerful hissatsu tactics and scores two goals. However, Inazuma Japan ultimately wins the match 3-2, a loss that Edgar and his team accept with grace and respect.

Edgar proves himself to be more than just a rival. Later in the tournament, when members of Inazuma Japan are kidnapped, Edgar joins Endou and others in a rescue mission to Heaven's Garden. During a match against the angelic team Tenkuu no Shito, he plays a crucial role, risking injury to his leg by using his Excalibur to deflect the opponent's Heaven Drive shot and secure the winning goal. This act demonstrates his courage and his willingness to sacrifice his own well-being for the sake of others.

In terms of relationships, Edgar shares a respectful rivalry with Endou Mamoru, evolving from initial condescension to mutual respect after their match. He has a friendly bond with teammate Philip Owen. He also shows a courteous and flirtatious interest in Fuyuka, the manager of Inazuma Japan, and displays a protective, gallant nature toward Rika, whom he is determined to save during the rescue mission.

Edgar's development sees him transition from an antagonist who looks down on his competition to a respected rival who acknowledges the strength of others. He learns humility through defeat and channels his pride into supporting those he once opposed, as seen when he cheers for Inazuma Japan during their final match against the powerful team Little Gigant.

Edgar is renowned as one of the strongest forwards in the series, confirmed as the strongest forward in the entire Inazuma Eleven series in some sources. His most notable ability is his signature shooting hissatsu technique, Excalibur. This powerful shot summons a giant sword to strike the ball and is unique in that it becomes stronger the greater the distance from the goal, making it a devastating long-range weapon. He also possesses other shooting techniques, including Paladin Strike. In game statistics, Edgar boasts exceptional kick and technique stats, reflecting his offensive prowess.
