Description
Jintaro Tsuji is a supporting character in the anime Eden of the East, known as Seleção No. 02. He is presented as a wealthy billionaire and is one of the twelve individuals chosen to participate in a high-stakes game with the power to use a massive sum of money to save Japan.

Physically, Jintaro is an adult male with short, black hair that reaches his ears and gray eyes. He collaborates closely with other Seleção, particularly Mononobe and the director Naomoto. Together with these two, he is involved in orchestrating the "sixty missile attacks" incident that serves as a major plot point. However, Jintaro’s personal investment in this grand scheme is notably low; he does not display a strong passion for the destructive plan and participates largely to find a way out of the Seleção competition.

His personality is somewhat enigmatic, but he is characterized by a desire to be free from the game he has been forced into. Unlike some other participants who are driven by ideology or ambition, Jintaro’s motivations are more pragmatic and self-serving. He is willing to use the immense resources at his disposal not for a grand societal vision, but for his own personal goal of escaping the game entirely. This desire for a swift resolution to his predicament explains his alliance with more proactive figures like Mononobe.

As a representative of the media in the thematic structure of the story, Jintaro demonstrates a talent for information control and manipulation. He markets Akira Takizawa, the protagonist, as the "Air King," a public hero built up by the press. This action is not born from admiration but from a calculated plan to later tear Takizawa down by exposing a scandal—specifically, falsely claiming he is the son of a deceased prime minister. This strategy reflects a common cynical tactic in modern media, where figures are built up by the press only to be destroyed for the sake of a sensational story.

Over the course of the narrative, Tsuji’s level of engagement changes. During the initial television series, he is depicted as being relatively detached and unenthusiastic about the game. However, by the events of the subsequent films, he begins to participate more actively, signaling a shift from his earlier role as a passive collaborator to a more involved player.
