Description
Kazuomi Hirasawa is a university student and the de facto leader of the group that creates the Eden of the East organization, which started as a small recycling club before evolving into a business built around a powerful image recognition system. He is a fourth-year student who has turned down job offers to focus on this entrepreneurial venture, with the ultimate goal of creating a self-sustaining paradise for NEETs, a community for those not in employment, education, or training.

Personality-wise, Hirasawa is characterized by a blend of ambition and pragmatism. He is known for his cautious and strategic mindset, often prioritizing the security and stability of his group. This protective nature is evident in how he handles new acquaintances. While he is helpful and cooperative, he also conducts discreet background checks on outsiders before fully trusting them, as seen with his initial skepticism towards Akira Takizawa, whose past he investigates thoroughly. Despite being the leader, Hirasawa is notably humble about his own abilities, freely admitting that the technological success of Eden of the East is primarily due to the talents of other members, such as Saki Morimi and the programmer Mikuru "Micchon" Katsuhara.

Hirasawa's primary motivation is to build this NEET paradise, which drives the group's activities and strategic decisions. His role in the story is largely as the operational leader of the Eden of the East group, navigating the challenges of running a startup while supporting the main characters. After Akira Takizawa disappears following a missile incident, Hirasawa demonstrates his loyalty and leadership by shifting the group’s focus. He coordinates their business operations to generate resources specifically for the purpose of finding Akira. He also takes a leading role in analyzing the logs from Akira's special phone, which reveals crucial information about other participants in the Seleção game.

Key relationships define much of his involvement. He works closely with Saki Morimi, showing concern for her well-being and supporting her search for Akira. He relies heavily on the technical skills of Micchon, who developed the core image recognition technology, and the reclusive hacker Yutaka Itazu, whom Hirasawa officially integrates as a full member of the group. His dynamic with Akira evolves from cautious suspicion to a cooperative partnership, as Hirasawa ultimately decides to work with him to achieve their overlapping goals. He is also supported by other club members including Satoshi Ohsugi. In terms of development, Hirasawa's character arc shows a young leader learning to balance trust with necessary caution, ultimately proving his dedication to his friends and his vision by mobilizing the entire organization for a mission of rescue and investigation beyond its original business scope. His notable abilities lie not in combat or technical programming, but in strategic leadership, business management, and the cautious gathering and analysis of information.
