Description
Makie Otono-Tachibana is a master swordswoman from the manga and anime Blade of the Immortal. Born into a samurai family, she inherited the clan's formidable natural talent for swordsmanship. This talent led to a family tragedy when she defeated her older brother in combat, causing him to commit seppuku. Her father subsequently disowned both Makie and her mother, casting them out of the family. Her mother then fell into a life of prostitution, and Makie initially took up the sword to avenge her mother's disgrace. However, she was unable to fully commit to the path of a killer.
