Megabaa, whose real name is Sanae Okonogi, is a character from Den-noh Coil who runs the candy shop Megasi-ya in Daikoku City, a store that also sells software and illegal metatags. She is a highly skilled software programmer and the primary craftsman of metatags in the city, using her expertise to create tools that allow users to interact with hidden layers of the augmented reality world. She is also the grandmother of the protagonist Yuko Okonogi, known as Yasako, and her younger sister Kyoko.
Megabaa is the head of the Coil Cyber Detective Agency, a group of children she employs to investigate digital anomalies and urban legends within Daikoku. She is eccentric in appearance and manner, often seen manipulating digital interfaces with a traditional folding fan.
