Description
Takeru Nekome is a supporting character in the anime Den-noh Coil, a boy around eleven years old who Yasako meets during her time in Daikoku City. He is the younger brother of Sousuke Nekome, a former acquaintance of Megabaa who becomes a key antagonist in the series. Takeru initially appears as a bully, particularly toward Isako, whom he mercilessly torments. His behavior is driven partly by jealousy and partly by loyalty to his older brother, whose schemes he is initially drawn into. However, as the story progresses, Takeru develops a fondness for Yasako and finds himself torn between his brother's vendetta and his own desire to protect her.

Takeru's background includes the loss of his father under circumstances tied to the augmented reality technology that pervades Daikoku. This loss has left him with a sense of disconnection and a lingering bitterness. He also suffers from a chronic illness, requiring regular medication and medical check-ups, which adds to the weight he carries. Despite these hardships, Takeru is resilient and determined. He is a skilled hacker, comfortable navigating the augmented reality landscape and using its tools to solve problems. His practical, analytical nature makes him a valuable problem-solver when he chooses to apply his abilities.

Throughout the series, Takeru undergoes significant development. He begins as a conflicted child acting out of misplaced loyalty but gradually becomes disillusioned with his brother's vengeful goals. His relationship with Yasako serves as a catalyst for change, encouraging him to break away from Sousuke's influence. By the end of the series, he actively works against his brother's plans, contributing to Sousuke's defeat alongside Megabaa and the other children. Takeru's journey from an antagonistic figure to someone capable of empathy and independent moral choice marks his growth as a character.
