TV-Series
Description
Nono is a twelve-year-old girl who belongs to a small group known as Lunarians, meaning she was born and has lived her entire life on the Moon. As part of a scientific study on the physiological effects of being conceived and raised in low gravity, she is regularly examined. The same low-gravity environment has caused her to grow unusually tall, giving her the appearance of someone roughly twice her actual age. Despite this marked physical difference, Nono remains consistently optimistic and cheerful. She takes genuine pride in her unique background as a Lunarian and is intensely curious about Earth, often asking strangers for information about the planet and spending long hours photographing its surface with her camera. While she dreams of one day visiting Earth, especially its oceans, she considers the Moon her true home and does not wish to leave it permanently. In the story, Nono appears as a supporting character who crosses paths with Hachirota Hoshino, also known as Hachimaki. She befriends him during a period when he is recovering from a leg injury, and the bond they share is one of her more notable relationships. Her role primarily highlights the human dimension of space colonization, showing how a person born off Earth can have a distinct identity and perspective. Nono does not possess any extraordinary abilities beyond the physical characteristics shaped by lunar gravity, but her compassionate nature and her curiosity about the world she has never set foot on are defining traits that inform her interactions throughout the series.
