Description
Lady Jaguara, also known as Jagara, is one of the three feuding Nobles who rule over the remnants of a decaying world and serves as a primary antagonist. She is the noble in charge of the mysterious domed city, often referred to as the Black City. Jagara is the older twin sister of Lady Hamona, and the two share a striking physical resemblance, though their personalities could not be more different.

In terms of appearance, Jagara is a striking figure. She has long, pale yellow-green hair and lavender eyes. She is almost always seen wearing a suit of elegant and practical armor, consisting of a grey leather chest plate, gold gauntlets, and a matching set of gold boots. To conceal her identity and add to her imposing presence, she wears a golden helmet that obscures her head, with a white and gold mask covering the upper part of her face.

The core of Jagara's personality is defined by cruelty, obsession, and a cold, calculating demeanor. Unlike her sister Hamona, who is described as kind and gentle, Jagara is mean and ruthless. She maintains a calm and controlled exterior, which makes her actions all the more menacing. As one of the most powerful Nobles, she commands her forces with absolute authority and whim. Her defining motivation is her obsessive, unrequited love for Lord Darcia III. This love eventually curdles into a deep-seated jealousy and hatred because Darcia rejected her in favor of her younger sister, Hamona. She never forgave Hamona for this slight and ultimately blamed Darcia for the fallout between them.

Jagara's primary role in the story is as a major obstacle for the wolf pack. She is a noble who sees the wolves as a direct threat to her plans to open a new "Noble's Paradise". To this end, she has a long history of hunting and killing wolves. She once captured and brainwashed the wolf Hige, using him as a lap dog and the alpha of a group of wolves forced to hunt their own kind to eliminate the remaining wolf population. Her overarching scheme involves using an ancient spell and a powerful machine, the Moonlight Crucible, to create an artificial gateway to Paradise. To power this machine and lure Darcia III to her, she kidnaps the Flower Maiden, Cheza, from Darcia's keep.

Her most significant relationships are defined by conflict and obsession. Her relationship with Lord Darcia III is the engine of her villainy; she desires him obsessively and will stop at nothing to have him, including attempting to destroy the person he truly loves, her sister. Her relationship with her twin sister, Hamona, is one of jealous rivalry that ends in tragedy, as she orders Hamona's murder. She also has a direct antagonistic relationship with the wolves, particularly Kiba's pack, whom she seeks to capture or destroy.

Jagara's development in the story is largely one of revelation rather than change. For much of the narrative, she is presented as a distant, fearsome, and somewhat enigmatic noble. It is only late in the series, particularly around the twenty-sixth episode, that the full depth of her history and motivations is revealed, showing her to be a deeply pitiable figure driven by a devastating and unrequited love. In the end, her elaborate plan fails; her attempt to create a new world is thwarted by the wolves and Darcia, who ultimately kills her.

Despite being a noble, Jagara is also a formidable and dangerous combatant. She possesses a strong mind and willpower, demonstrated by her being the only Noble at her banquet who does not fall under the influence of Darcia's powerful wolf eye. She is a highly skilled swordswoman, capable of maintaining an offensive against Darcia and mortally wounding the wolf Hige. Furthermore, she has access to unique abilities, possibly derived from alchemy or advanced technology. She can summon a barrier that creates hieroglyphics and can absorb an opponent's energy. Her forces include not only her elite guard and main army, armed with advanced weapons, but also hooded figures who assisted her in creating powerful illusions.
