Mercredi is a supporting character in the anime Kiddy Grade. Her name is French for Wednesday. She is thirteen years old and serves as the private secretary to Eclipse, the chief of the Galactic Organization of Trade and Tariffs, or GOTT. Mercredi is exceptionally talented at data gathering, with abilities that can rival or even surpass those of a computer, and she is regarded as one of the most intelligent workers among the seven secretaries in the organization. She excels at secretarial duties such as maintaining schedules and managing office work. In her daily interactions, Mercredi is friendly and often spends time with ES members, particularly Éclair and Lumière, for whom she frequently prepares tea after their missions. Despite her youthful appearance and supportive role, Mercredi harbors a hidden agenda. She later disappears when the GOTT towers are destroyed and is presumed dead, but she reappears in the rebuilt headquarters without her usual uniform. It is then revealed that her true codename is Pfeilspitze, German for arrowhead, and that she has been working as a double agent inside GOTT for Armbrust, a Galactic Union auditor. In the sequel series Kiddy Girl-and, Mercredi adopts the new name Hiver and becomes the leader of the GTO, a successor organization to GOTT. Her development traces a path from a seemingly loyal and efficient secretary to a secretly operating agent, and finally to a figure of authority in a new era.
