Description
Chouji Suitengu is the primary antagonist of the story, a figure of immense wealth and cold-blooded ruthlessness who operates as the president of the Tennozu Group's Roppongi Development division. Publicly, he is known as the trusted right-hand man of Shinsen Tennozu, handling the corporation's most illicit and behind-the-scenes activities. However, his true power lies in his secret identity as the manager of the Roppongi Club, an ultra-exclusive underground society where the political and economic elite gather to indulge in their deepest, most depraved fetishes. Suitengu is a man of refined and unsettling habits; he is never seen without his coat and gloves, always carries a small music box, and uses 10,000 yen bills to roll his cigarettes as a casual display of his contempt for wealth.
Beneath his calm and sophisticated exterior lies a deeply traumatized and vengeful individual. His real name is Ueno Takeshi, and he was once the son of wealthy parents living a peaceful life with his younger sister, Yui. This existence was shattered when his parents fell into debt with the Ashikaga Group, the predecessor of the Tennozu Group, leading to their murder. As a result, the thirteen-year-old Takeshi and his five-year-old sister Yui were sold into slavery to pay off the debt. He was forced to become a child soldier, told that each kill would reduce his family's debt and bring him closer to freedom. After years of brutal combat, his last mission involved infiltrating a biological weapon research facility. The facility was destroyed, and Suitengu was severely wounded, losing limbs in the explosion. He was infected with the Euphoria virus and was subsequently recovered and "repaired" by the facility's scientists, who grafted new body parts onto him to preserve their experiment.
Motivated by a deep-seated hatred for money and the greed of the powerful who destroyed his life, Suitengu plots a grand and destructive revenge. After escaping from the laboratory, he took the name Chouji Suitengu and began to systematically infiltrate the Tennozu Group. He engaged in a secret, internal relationship with Shinsen Tennozu, using her to gain control of the corporation's assets and build the Roppongi Club. His ultimate goal is not merely to kill individuals, but to collapse the entire Japanese economic system. Using the club as his base, he maintains the secret gatherings where Shinsen's daughter, Kagura, is worshiped as a goddess. Her unique ability to unlock a person's deepest desires allows Suitengu to create Euphorics, superhumans with bizarre and dangerous abilities, whom he uses as his agents.
Suitengu's key relationships are defined by manipulation and a twisted sense of purpose. He is the architect of Kagura Tennozu's suffering, keeping her drugged and isolated as a tool to grant powers to the club's elite members. When Shinsen discovers his true plans, he coldly murders her in front of her daughter. The most significant relationship in his past is with his sister, Yui. The music box he always carries is a keepsake from her, a memory of his former life. After years of searching, he finally reunites with Yui, only to find that she has been broken by years of forced prostitution and no longer recognizes him. As a final act of mercy, he kills her to end her suffering, an event that solidifies his path of revenge. Despite his cruelty, he shows a degree of loyalty to his three direct henchmen; he offers them the chance to leave before his final plan is enacted, an offer they refuse out of their own loyalty to him.
As a Euphoric, Suitengu possesses the incredible ability to manipulate his own blood at will. He can shape it into a variety of forms for attack, defense, and mobility, such as hardening it into projectiles that can cut through diamond, creating wings for flight, or forming tentacles to strike enemies. This power makes him an immensely formidable opponent. Throughout the story, his role is that of the puppet master, first as the shadowy figure hunting the protagonist Tatsumi Saiga after he kidnaps Kagura, and later as the mastermind of a plot to destroy Japan's economy by accumulating a massive sum of money in the Tennozu Building and then defaulting on the nation's debt. His development reveals him not as a simple hedonist, but as a tragic figure whose monstrous actions are driven by a horrific past, making him a final boss whose will and revenge reshape the world.
