Description
Omi Tsukiyono is the youngest member of the assassin group Weiß in Weiss Kreuz Verbrechen & Strafe, where he serves as the team's information specialist, strategist, and mission planner. He is seventeen years old, with a boyish face, a small build, and blue eyes, and he presents himself with a cheerful, polite manner that suits his youthful appearance. His real name is Mamoru Takatori, and he is connected by birth to the Takatori family, a powerful clan whose affairs repeatedly intersect with the work of Weiß. Within the team he uses the code name Bombay, and by day he works at the flower shop called Kitty in the House alongside his three partners as cover for their covert activities.

Omi's past explains the path that led him into Weiß. When he was eleven years old, he was kidnapped, and his father refused to pay the ransom demanded for his release. He was eventually saved by Persia, the mysterious leader of the organization behind Weiß, who then trained him as an operative. The trauma of the kidnapping left him with amnesia about his childhood, and the name Omi Tsukiyono was given to him by Shuichi Takatori as part of his new identity. When his suppressed memories begin to return, he is confronted with the unsettling discovery that he has been fighting against people connected to his own family, forcing him to question where his loyalties truly lie.

In personality, Omi is calm, dependable, and composed. He uses the polite first-person pronoun boku in his speech, which fits his gentle and refreshing outward manner. Although he is the youngest of the four, he acts as the group's coordinator and steadying presence, keeping missions organized and the team focused. His reliability contrasts with the violent nature of the work he does, and his quiet efficiency makes him a dependable presence within Weiß rather than simply its junior member.

His role in the team is built around intelligence and planning. Omi handles the gathering of information and the preparation of Weiß's missions, relying on his strong computer skills to analyze data and coordinate operations. He is not a close-combat fighter; instead, he fights at a distance with a crossbow, a bow, and poisoned darts, combining precision shooting with a strategic approach to each assignment. These abilities make him the operational brain of the group while the others provide more direct physical force.

Omi's motivations are shaped by both gratitude and the search for identity. After being abandoned by his father and rescued by Persia, he devoted himself to the work of Weiß as a way of repaying the purpose he was given. As his memories return, however, his motivation shifts toward understanding who he really is and deciding where he belongs. In the events of Verbrechen & Strafe, the members of Weiß are drawn into a confrontation in which the four partners end up facing one another, each driven by personal reasons for surviving, and Omi must navigate that conflict while holding onto his own sense of purpose.

His key relationships reflect this inner tension. Persia is both his rescuer and his mentor, the figure who gave him a second chance and trained him for the life he now leads. His bond with his teammates, Aya, Ken, and Youji, is close, and he functions as the one who holds the group together. At the same time, his blood relationship to the Takatori family means that his missions sometimes place him in opposition to his own relatives, and his grandfather represents the family legacy that he must eventually come to terms with.

Omi's development across the story follows his recovery of identity. The return of his memories initially shakes him and makes him less effective as an operative, but confronting the truth of his past ultimately becomes the foundation of his strength. Later in the series, he reclaims his original name, Mamoru, accepts responsibility for the organization he once served, and takes on the role of Persia himself in order to rebuild Weiß. In doing so, he grows from a quiet, obedient trainee shaped by another person's design into a leader who makes his own choices about what Weiß and its mission should become.
