Description
Kanuka Clancy is a fictional character from the Mobile Police Patlabor anime franchise. She is a police officer on loan from the New York City Police Department, temporarily assigned to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police's Special Vehicles Section 2, Second Unit for a six-month period. Her primary goal is to gain practical experience with patrol labors, the giant mecha used by law enforcement, with the ambition of eventually leading her own labor unit back in New York. She is of half Japanese and half American heritage and was born in Hawaii, later moving to New York.
In terms of personality, Kanuka is most frequently portrayed as a tough, professional, and highly disciplined officer who prefers to operate strictly by the book.
