TV-Series
Description
Shii Eniwa attends high school in Hokuto, Yamanashi Prefecture alongside classmates Koguma and Reiko. Her family owns BEURRE, a German-style bakery and coffee shop where she occasionally hosts friends. She first appears coordinating her school’s cultural festival, encountering transportation difficulties when a teacher’s car becomes unavailable. Koguma and Reiko assist using their Honda Super Cubs, sparking Shii’s interest in motorcycles and initiating their friendship.
Petite and slightly shorter than Koguma, Shii has not grown significantly since junior high. She has long, light-colored hair (depicted as grayish in the anime) and matching eyes. A mole under her right eye appears in the light novel and anime but is omitted in the manga. She typically wears her school uniform without the jacket.
Outgoing and enthusiastic, Shii occasionally displays clumsiness, colliding with objects or falling while cycling. She aspires to operate her own coffee shop and diligently studies to become a barista, saving money to purchase a used espresso machine for practice. Her interests include foreign cultures, particularly Italian coffee traditions. Some fan analyses suggest an ENFP personality type with Enneagram 6w7, noting her loyalty and encouragement of others to try new experiences.
Shii previously rode an Alex Moulton bicycle, a British model with front/rear suspension and a distinctive space-frame design. During her junior year, she experiences a winter accident nearly plunging into a river before Koguma rescues her. This deepens her admiration for Koguma and the Super Cub, prompting her to replace the damaged bicycle with a light blue Honda Little Cub motorcycle, solidifying her integration into the group’s motorcycle activities.
Her development includes joining Koguma and Reiko on a multi-day road trip to Kagoshima, Japan’s southernmost point. As Reiko’s passenger, she shares meals and experiences cherry blossom season, reinforcing group bonds and her appreciation for motorcycle exploration. Originally a secondary character, the author expanded her role into a "younger sister figure" whom Koguma mentors in motorcycle knowledge, contributing to Koguma’s social growth and the trio’s shared adventures.
Shii acts as a supportive friend, frequently encouraging Koguma beyond her comfort zone. Her parents are caring, though she finds them occasionally embarrassing. After acquiring her Little Cub, she regularly joins Koguma and Reiko on rides and trips, cementing their friendship through shared experiences.
