Perm is a recurring supporting character in Urusei Yatsura, a classmate of Ataru Moroboshi and one of the members of the group known as Lum's Stormtroopers, the self-appointed fan club and protective guard devoted to Lum. His nickname comes from his hairstyle, a permanent wave, and he is typically shown as tall and thin, with brown hair cut to ear length and black eyes. His given name is Kosuke, which ties him to Kosuke Shirai, the earlier manga character whose role he effectively took over.
