Harara Hagakure, older sibling to Kakugo Hagakure, originally trained alongside him to protect civilians in post-apocalyptic Tokyo using advanced Fortified Armor Shells. Harara inherited the Kasumi armor, forged using the soul of Mei Inukai, a woman whose infant son was sacrificed without consent during its creation. This process embedded Mei's vengeful spirit within the armor, which possessed Harara upon bonding. The possession mutated his body into a hermaphroditic form, drove him insane, and led him to kill their father, Oboro Hagakure, during combat. Harara subsequently abandoned his protective duties.
Believing humanity responsible for environmental destruction, Harara resolved to eradicate all humans. He commanded an army of monstrous Tactical Fiends from a fortress in ruined Tokyo, displaying genuine care for these subordinates by forgiving failures and valuing their sacrifices. Like his brother, Harara utilized eight steel balls embedded in his body, absorbing them to coat his skin in metal for enhanced strength. His signature technique, Spiral, channeled terrestrial energy to inflict catastrophic internal damage on opponents.
After Kakugo defeated Harara's lieutenants, Harara possessed the near-lifeless body of the Tactical Fiend Eikichi to confront Kakugo directly. Injuries to Eikichi's body transferred to Harara, and advancing rigor mortis impeded movement. Kakugo exploited these weaknesses, defeated Eikichi's body, and left Harara comatose for most of the original series.
In later media, Harara resurfaces after awakening from his coma. He participates in conflicts involving other armored warriors, though his specific role and alignment remain ambiguous. His return involves interactions with Kakugo and new characters, continuing his narrative within the broader storyline of the sequels.
