Description
Louie-Louie is a skilled shipwright and blacksmith master who works as one of the five foremen at Dock 1 of the Galeera Company in the city of Water 7. He is known for his muscular build, short dark hair with a single stubborn strand that constantly stands up no matter how many times he tries to flatten it, and a black mustache. His chest and upper arms are decorated with tribal tattoos. He wears orange-tinted glasses that hide his eyes and often goes shirtless, showing his strong physique.
In terms of personality, Louie-Louie is deeply loyal to his boss Iceburg and the Galeera Company, holding great respect for all that Iceburg has done for Water 7. This loyalty extends to his coworkers, and he was genuinely shocked when he learned that Galley La members Rob Lucci, Kaku, and Kalifa were actually secret agents of the World Government. He tends to remain calm in most situations, as shown when his bullets failed to harm the rubber-bodied Luffy and he simply switched weapons without panic. Despite this composed exterior, he also has a playful and childish side, once mimicking Luffy's Gum-Gum 300 Pound Cannon technique while riding the Rocketman alongside other characters.
Louie-Louie's primary motivation is to serve the Galeera Company and protect those he cares about, whether that means fighting the World Government or defending his city. He joined Paulie and Tilestone in storming Enies Lobby to rescue Iceburg and seek revenge for the assassination attempts on him, willingly opposing the Marines and the government in the process.
His role in the main story centers on the Water 7 and Enies Lobby arcs. Initially, he and his fellow foremen suspected the Straw Hat Pirates of attacking Iceburg and engaged Luffy in a short fight. After the truth came to light and CP9 was exposed, Louie-Louie helped the Straw Hats infiltrate Enies Lobby, where he battled government agents and used his combat skills alongside his allies. Following the Enies Lobby incident, he contributed his blacksmithing expertise to help construct the Thousand Sunny, the Straw Hats' new ship. He appears again after the two-year timeskip, now sporting a longer, pointier mustache and a more pronounced rebellious hair strand.
Key relationships include his strong bond with fellow foremen Paulie and Tilestone, with whom he fights and collaborates. He holds Iceburg in high esteem and was furious at the attacks on his life. He initially viewed Monkey D. Luffy and his crew with suspicion and aggression, but later helped them build their ship. He also worked with Franky during the construction of the Thousand Sunny.
His notable abilities come from his mastery of blacksmithing and combat. He is an expert in all forms of metalwork related to shipbuilding. In battle, he wields a variety of weapons simultaneously, including double-barrel pistols, saws, and swords. He also uses his uncontrollable hair strand to his advantage, making it suddenly appear on an opponent's body to distract them. On Enies Lobby, he and Tilestone executed the technique Trunnel Lock to pin down the giant Oimo.
Louie-Louie remains a supporting character whose loyalty, craftsmanship, and occasional humor add depth to the Water 7 saga and the creation of the Straw Hats' enduring vessel.
