Description
Ideo, also known as Destruction Cannon and the Fighting King, is a muscular man who stands 225 centimeters tall and is 22 years old during the Dressrosa arc. He is a member of the Longarm Tribe, a race characterized by an extra joint in their arms, which gives them unique combat capabilities. In Ideo’s case, he keeps these extra joints compressed and extended past his shoulders, giving them an unusual, bulky appearance that he uses to generate explosive force in his punches. His appearance is further distinguished by his sharp facial features, a widow’s peak, dark eyeliner around his eyes, and black hair tied into a tight, stiff ponytail that is divided into two sections. He has red earrings in each ear and four black crosses tattooed on his chest. His typical outfit consists of a jacket that leaves his torso exposed, shorts, a thick belt with a cross-shaped buckle, kneepads, red boxing gloves, and bandages wrapped around his calves and feet.
In the past, Ideo rose to prominence as a two-time champion of the New World Central Fighting Tournament and achieved the rank of an XXX-class boxer. His primary motivation is a deep-seated desire to become stronger, which drove him to enter the Corrida Colosseum in the Dressrosa kingdom to compete for the Flame-Flame Fruit. He is an ambitious and competitive fighter with a great sense of pride. This pride is coupled with a strong sense of duty and honor; he is not driven by personal greed but by a need to repay his debts and uphold his responsibilities. During his battle with the Donquixote Pirates officer Dellinger, Ideo demonstrated a profound belief in collective struggle, stating that victory cannot be achieved alone and that the world of men is defined by duty and humanity. Despite his serious and often ruthless demeanor in combat, he can become visibly annoyed or uncomfortable in noisy environments or around boisterous people.
Ideo’s role in the story begins as a gladiator in the tournament for the Flame-Flame Fruit. After being eliminated by the legendary pirate Chinjao, he, along with many other fighters, was turned into a toy by the Donquixote Pirates’ officer Sugar. Upon being freed, he immediately chose to fight against the Donquixote Pirates to repay the Straw Hat Pirates for their role in his liberation. In the ensuing battle, he faced the officer Dellinger. Despite being severely outmatched and suffering a grievous wound to his stomach, Ideo courageously stalled Dellinger, refusing to fall and buying precious time for Monkey D. Luffy to defeat the primary antagonist, Doflamingo.
Following the battle, Ideo became the representative of a group of four gladiators, which included Blue Gilly and the bounty hunters Abdullah and Jeet, forming the group called the XXX Gym Martial Arts Alliance. This alliance was one of seven crews that swore fealty to Luffy, forming the Straw Hat Grand Fleet. Ideo serves as the captain of the fleet’s fourth ship, commanding his own crew known as the Ideo Pirates. While Luffy initially refused to accept such a formal oath of loyalty, Ideo was among the seven leaders who insisted on performing the sake ceremony to seal their bond, showing his commitment and respect for the tradition.

After the events of Dressrosa, and later in cover page serials, Ideo and his crew were shown sailing on a ship given to them by a fellow Grand Fleet captain, Orlumbus, continuing their journey as an allied force under the banner of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet.
