Unlike more flamboyant mentors, he maintains a professional and stoic demeanor, though he is not above using psychological tactics to push his students beyond their limits. In a famous training episode, Goku spends several days trying to take a bottle he believes contains the Super Holy Water, only to discover the water was ordinary and that the true power came from the effort of the training itself. Three centuries earlier, Mestre Karin had also trained a young Kamesennin, who took three full years to accomplish the same task.
