Description
Kirin is a supporting character and a divine guardian in the Kusunoki residence. This entity is one of the Four Sacred Beasts, a group of powerful spiritual beings that reside within the estate's garden. Known as the Benevolent Beast among these four, Kirin is a freewheeling guardian who often roams the wider world before returning home to the Kusunoki house.

In terms of personality, Kirin is a being of contrasts. While possessing a calm and dignified air befitting its divine station, it is also known to be cautious and stubborn by nature. This cautious disposition initially causes Kirin to keep a deliberate distance from the human protagonist, Minato, only gradually opening up and becoming more comfortable as trust builds over time. Beneath its regal exterior, Kirin is also revealed to be a significant chatterbox, a trait that contrasts with its more reserved appearance. Its unconventional behavior and wandering habits are often seen as troublesome by some of the other, more static divine beasts living on the estate.

Kirin's motivations are tied to its nature as a roaming guardian. It travels the world and returns to the Kusunoki residence bearing rare fruits and other gathered gifts. As one of the Four Sacred Beasts, it plays an essential role as an indispensable guardian of the grounds, contributing to the sanctuary-like protection of the home. One of its notable abilities is the power to grant a person the capacity to rule the world, an offer it presents to the protagonist Minato, who ultimately declines it.
