Suguru Daisho, former captain of Nohebi Academy's Boys' Volleyball Team, sports a snake-like appearance with narrow eyes, a thin face, and dark hair swept to one side; post-timeskip, his hair shortens. At 178.3 cm with a lean build, he habitually sticks out his tongue.
Competitive and cunning, he mocks opponents—especially Nekoma—while deploying a polite façade during matches to sway referees, loudly admitting net touches to boost Nohebi's reputation. He simultaneously employs underhanded tactics like spiking at opponents' faces or blocking referees' sightlines. Despite this manipulation, he analyzes match dynamics with composure and displays genuine determination to win, though personal jabs—like Kuroo referencing his breakup with Mika Yamaka—fluster him.
His longstanding rivalry with Kuroo traces back to junior high. As a third-year during the Spring High Preliminary Arc, he leads Nohebi and provokes Nekoma in a hallway confrontation, insulting Kuroo’s team and height. After Nohebi’s loss to Itachiyama, they face Nekoma for third place, where Daisho strategically targets players like Yamamoto and Lev to disrupt focus. He exploits weaknesses such as substitute libero Shibayama following Yaku's injury and coordinates with setter Sakishima to undermine morale. Nohebi loses the match.
Post-loss, Mika approaches Daisho, apologizing for their breakup and acknowledging his volleyball dedication. They reconcile as Mika expresses interest in learning the sport. Daisho then rejoins his tearful third-year teammates, closing his high school career emotionally.
Later, Daisho attends Tokyo Nationals with Mika as a spectator. He analytically observes matches like Karasuno vs. Inarizaki, noting Inarizaki’s serve-disruption tactics, and Nekoma vs. Sarukawa, identifying Sarukawa’s strategy to exhaust setter Kenma. During Nekoma vs. Karasuno, he recognizes Nekoma’s uncharacteristically aggressive start and compares Tsukishima’s playstyle to Kuroo’s. Though he taunts Nekoma’s third-years post-loss, Mika’s presence restrains him.
Post-graduation, Daisho joins the Division 2 V.League team Yotsuya Motor Spirits, continuing his volleyball career.
