Description
Racio, also spelled Raqio, is a character in Gnosia. They are a non-binary-identifying human from the Gliese Fleet, an estimated eighteen years old and a student by occupation. They are small in stature at roughly 160 centimeters, with short green hair and blue eyes, and they carry themselves with a noticeable sense of flair in both appearance and manner.

Racio's personality is defined by strong confidence. They think highly of themselves and their abilities and do not hesitate to speak their mind, regardless of how their words affect those around them. Their sharp tongue and blunt, sometimes abrasive way of addressing others make them a challenging presence in group discussions, and they often clash with crew members who do not share their standards of reasoning. They are nonetheless a highly logical thinker, and this is their defining strength. Once enough information has been gathered, Racio is frequently able to work out who the Gnosia are, making them one of the more effective crew members at cutting through deception during the daily debates.

Racio's motivation is closely tied to their belief in their own intellect. They are driven to apply logic to the situation at hand, to expose the Gnosia through reasoned argument, and to have their conclusions taken seriously, even when their delivery makes others resistant. Their insistence on being right, combined with their disregard for politeness, often puts them at odds with the rest of the group. In practice, this makes Racio a common target for early nomination to cold sleep, sometimes regardless of whether they are actually a Gnosia, a human, or another role, since their demeanor provokes suspicion and irritation from others.

In the story, Racio is among the first characters introduced, appearing in the earliest loop alongside the player character, Setsu, SQ, and Gina. Across the repeated time loops that structure the narrative, Racio takes on an important role in the larger mystery. They are one of the characters who eventually reveals that the time loops experienced by the player and Setsu are caused by an entity known as the Silver Key, a revelation that is central to understanding what is happening on the ship. Racio therefore contributes to the story in two ways: as an active participant in the daily deduction arguments, and as a source of key knowledge about the loop phenomenon.

In terms of relationships, Racio has a particularly notable dynamic with Remnan, and the pair are one of the most prominent character pairings in the cast. Racio also interacts regularly with Setsu and the player character, and the nature of those interactions can shift from cooperative to antagonistic depending on the loop and the circumstances. Their close involvement with the Silver Key revelation ties them directly to the central mystery that Setsu and the player are trying to solve.

Racio's development unfolds gradually over the course of the many loops. Encounters across different loops provide pieces of backstory, including their origins in the Gliese Fleet, and reveal more about how their mind works. Their confidence and sharp logic remain constant throughout, but their involvement in the story's deeper revelations adds weight to their role, moving them from a merely outspoken crew member into a character with meaningful connections to the central plot.
