Description
Manami Kimura is a supporting character in Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube. She is the younger sister of Katsuya Kimura and attends Domori Elementary School as a second-grade student, the same school her brother attends in fifth grade. Because both of her parents are busy working, Katsuya effectively raises and takes care of her on a daily basis, making them very close.
Her personality is honest, innocent, and cheerful. She wears her heart on her sleeve and openly expresses affection for her brother without embarrassment. She is straightforward and bright, often serving as an emotional anchor for Katsuya, who is fiercely protective of her despite his own troublesome and cowardly reputation at school. Her genuine and warm nature makes her one of the more endearing child characters in the series.
Manami’s role in the story is primarily tied to her relationship with Katsuya. She appears in episodes where supernatural threats target her or involve her brother, highlighting Katsuya’s caring side and motivating him to act bravely. One of her most notable episodes involves a cursed simulation game that she and Katsuya purchase from a secondhand shop; after she is struck in the head by a falling cement bag from a passing truck, the game becomes the catalyst for a dangerous supernatural incident. In such situations, she is often the innocent victim or the person whose safety drives the conflict.
Her key relationships are with her brother Katsuya, who acts as her guardian and protector, and with the other students and teachers of Domori Elementary, including the protagonist Meisuke Nueno. She is generally well-liked and interacts with the class in a friendly manner. Over the course of the story, Manami does not undergo major personal development or gain any supernatural abilities; she remains a normal, kind-hearted child who occasionally finds herself caught in the paranormal events that surround the school. Her presence serves to deepen Katsuya’s character and to add emotional stakes to the episodes in which she appears.
