Lord Changping, also known as Shou Hei Kun, hailed from Chu's royal family, sent to Qin as a political hostage in his youth. Abandoned by Chu, he found a new family with the Mou household, forging deep bonds with Mou Bu and Mou Aki as sworn siblings. This early betrayal profoundly shaped his loyalties. In Qin, he rose to power as Chancellor of the Right and Head of Military Affairs, directing the nation's military strategies and overseeing the Strategist Academy where he instructed figures like Mou Ten, Mou Ki, and Ka Ryo Ten. Initially part of Chancellor Ryo Fui's faction as one of the "Four Pillars," he maintained independence from Ryo Fui's extremes. He supported King Ei Sei during the coup against Lao Ai, later joining the king's faction. His leadership proved crucial, such as approving the Zhao alliance to concentrate forces against Wei and Han. His strategic brilliance shone during the Coalition Invasion. Facing overwhelming odds, he consolidated Qin's defenses at Kankoku Pass, abandoning peripheral regions. He realistically calculated Qin's survival chance as "one in five." He dispatched reinforcements to Sai and coordinated generals, privately assuring Mou Bu of his superior strength before Mou Bu's decisive victory over Chu's Kan Mei. Despite his loyalty to Qin, his Chu heritage ultimately caused conflict. When Qin invaded Chu, he defected, opposing his former allies. Adopted as Chu's last king by general Xiang Yan, he led resistance forces in Huainan. He met his end in battle, killed by an arrow during Qin's final assault. Historical records show inconsistencies regarding his kingship, with some naming Fuchu as Chu's final ruler. Stoic and analytical, he rarely displayed emotion. He possessed a keen eye for talent, recognizing potential in commoners like Shin early on. His relationships were defined by duty; he respected Mou Bu as both brother and military peer but strategically overruled him, appointing Ou Ki over Mou Bu at Bayou. After Ou Ki's death, he acknowledged Mou Bu's growth, strengthening their bond. Later media, like the live-action film *Kingdom: Unmei no Honō*, depicted his role in the Battle of Bayou and interactions with figures such as Shi Ka, consistent with his strategic advisory capacity in Qin's campaigns.
