Description
Junichirō Kubota cuts an imposing figure, tall and heavily muscled, bearing the legacy of past physical strength. Distinctive scars carve his face, notably a prominent vertical one slicing through his left eyebrow and down his cheek. His deep, gravel-laced voice amplifies his intimidating aura.

In his youth, Junichirō was a notorious delinquent, feared city-wide as "The Ogre" or "Demon Kubota." This reputation sprang from immense raw power and a volatile temper. He actively sought fights, instigating many himself, and remained considered unbeatable. This era defined him, steeped in aggression and conflict.

A pivotal transformation occurred when he met and fell deeply in love with Yuzuko, Tomo Aizawa's mother. Her influence proved profound, compelling him to abandon delinquency entirely. He reformed, channeling his formidable strength into productive labor. He now owns and operates the successful Kubota Construction, working alongside his former bitter rival turned close friend, Misaki Gōda.

Despite his reform, remnants of his volatile past endure, chiefly an explosively short temper that ignites instantly when provoked, particularly concerning his daughter, Tomo. In these rages, his old, aggressive speech patterns and demeanor resurface. His core motivation, however, shifted entirely towards being a devoted husband and an intensely, excessively protective father.

His relationship with Tomo is paramount. He loves her profoundly but grapples intensely with her maturation and any potential romantic interests, especially Kosuke Misaki. He perceives any boy near Tomo as a threat, triggering comically fierce reactions and attempts to intimidate or physically remove them. This overprotectiveness fuels constant conflict and humor, rooted in his inability to see Tomo as anything beyond his little girl.

His complex history with Misaki Gōda, Kosuke's father, holds weight. They were bitter rivals in their delinquent days, culminating in Junichirō decisively defeating Misaki. This defeat spurred Misaki to dedicate himself to surpassing Junichirō, eventually becoming his employee. Their relationship evolved from fierce enmity into a deep, grudging respect and genuine friendship forged through shared history, though physical clashes occasionally recur.

Junichirō demonstrates significant personal evolution regarding Kosuke. Initial hostility is extreme, viewing Kosuke solely as a threat to Tomo. However, through witnessing Kosuke's genuine feelings, unwavering dedication to Tomo, and respectable character—particularly his strength and willingness to confront Junichirō—a reluctant thaw begins. This culminates in Junichirō acknowledging Kosuke as worthy of Tomo, marking major growth in overcoming his overprotective instincts. While remaining vigilant, he ceases active hostility towards their relationship.
