Description
Makoto Suzuki is a former member of the First Division of the Tokyo Manji Gang and was originally one of the Mizo Middle Five, a close-knit group of friends from middle school that included Takemichi Hanagaki. He has dark hair that is slicked back and ends in a mullet, black eyes, and prominent lips. His height is approximately 1.72 meters and his weight is around 64 kilograms.

Suzuki is not known for exceptional fighting ability. However, his strong interest in reading comics and manga has led him to pick up several wrestling techniques, most notably a move called the Octopus Hold. This unconventional fighting style reflects his resourcefulness and his tendency to draw inspiration from the stories he enjoys.

In terms of personality, Suzuki is a loyal and dependable friend. He follows Takemichi’s lead and supports his decisions, joining the Tokyo Manji Gang after Takemichi becomes captain of the First Division. He often spends time with his fellow Mizo Middle friend Kazushi Yamagishi, and the two share a playful, bantering dynamic. His motivation is rooted in friendship and a desire to stand by those he cares about, even as the gang conflicts escalate.

Within the story, Suzuki plays a supporting role. He participates in the gang’s battles and contributes to group efforts, but he does not take center stage. His development is subtle: he begins as a middle school delinquent and, as an adult, presents a more mature appearance with shorter hair shaved at the sides, expensive accessories such as bracelets and watches, and tattoos on his arms. This visual change signals his growth, but his core loyalty remains unchanged.

His key relationships include Takemichi Hanagaki, his close friend and the central figure of the story, as well as the other members of the Mizo Middle Five: Kazushi Yamagishi, Takuya Yamamoto, and Atsushi Sendo. Within the Tokyo Manji Gang, he respects the leadership of figures like Manjiro Sano and Ken Ryuguji.

Throughout the War of the Three Titans Arc, Suzuki continues to appear as a supporting character, standing with his friends during the final conflicts that determine the fate of the Tokyo Manji Gang and the larger gang war. His presence underscores the enduring bonds formed in middle school and the quiet courage of those who fight alongside the main protagonist without seeking the spotlight.
