Description
Magatia, also known by his codename Snake, is an Executive of the Villainous Army who appears in the second season of the anime. His background reveals him to be a figure who has largely abandoned the army's original goal of world domination, which he views as outdated and no longer of interest. Compared to other high-ranking members of his organization, he is a relatively peaceful individual who prefers to avoid outright violence and simply wishes to be left alone. Despite his pacific leanings, he still holds a dismissive view of the low-ranking Dusters, regarding them as expendable cannon fodder.
Magatia's primary motivation stems from a deal struck with a former Ranger, Kyosuke Wakaba. Together, they formed a group called Ouroboros, driven by the goal of creating a world where no harm comes to children. To realize this dream, Magatia uses his unique powers to abduct young students, trapping them in an illusory world in a series of events known as the "Spirited Away" cases. His role in the story is that of a formidable antagonist, a hidden boss who initially poses as an ordinary high school student named Yu Nishiki to infiltrate and observe the Green Battalion when they investigate his operations.
In terms of appearance, Magatia has two primary forms. His main form resembles a human man whose head curves into that of a giant snake, complete with a large serpentine tail. One side of his body is covered in armor, while the other is left exposed. His smaller form is that of a seemingly ordinary snake, distinguished by the unique texture of its skin and patches of armor on its face and body. His key relationships are defined by his goals and betrayals. He formed a crucial alliance with Kyosuke Wakaba, who became the public face of their organization Ouroboros. His most loyal follower is Mine Gato, a former soldier who genuinely shares Magatia's dream and is even willing to surrender his own body for his master's survival. Conversely, he develops a deep hatred for the protagonist, Sentoin D, blaming him entirely for the unraveling of his carefully laid plans.
Throughout his development, Magatia demonstrates a ruthless side when his dream is threatened. After being exposed and forced out of his illusion world by the Green Keeper, he is severely weakened and reverted to his small snake form. In a desperate act to survive, he attempts to seize the body of another student, only to be tracked down and seemingly killed. However, he is later revived through the use of an Invader Transformation Serum, and his first instinct upon returning is to seek revenge against Sentoin D.
Magatia possesses several notable abilities that make him a significant threat. His primary power is the creation of extremely sophisticated illusions. He can craft entire illusory worlds where he has complete control over the environment, manipulating the surroundings at will. While he can decide who enters or leaves this world, exceptionally strong individuals can force their way in. A key rule of this ability is that any damage sustained within the illusion is reversed upon exiting, unless the victim is killed. Additionally, as an Executive, he has the ability to take over human bodies, using them as vessels to hide and operate within the real world.
