Description
Lemon Irvine is a first-year student at Easton Magic Academy and a main character in Mashle: Magic and Muscles. She comes from a poor, low-class family and originally enrolled at the academy in order to help support them financially. During the entrance examination, she was ordered by an examiner to hinder Mash Burnedead, but while attempting to do so she ended up in danger. Mash returned to rescue her, and in the aftermath she fell deeply in love with him, misunderstanding his words of reassurance as a marriage proposal. From that point onward she regards herself as Mash's fiancée, a belief she maintains with unwavering devotion.

Personality-wise, Lemon is soft-spoken, sweet, honest, and good-natured, but also quite easily frightened and prone to exaggeration in conversation. She is polite and consistently uses formal language, but beneath her gentle exterior lies an intensely obsessive romantic side. Her feelings for Mash are exceptionally strong, and she often displays a self-aware but unashamedly "heavy" emotional nature, imagining dramatic romantic scenarios and acting in a stalker-like manner toward him. Despite this, she is genuinely kind-hearted and incapable of betraying those she cares about. She loves animals and becomes distressed when they are mistreated. Her loyalty is unshakeable; she will put herself in harm's way to protect Mash, even when facing opponents far stronger than herself.

Her primary motivation switches over the course of the story from improving her family's circumstances to being by Mash's side and supporting him in every way she can. She is a devoted ally who provides emotional encouragement, sews protective charms for him (such as the cream-puff mascot Shuko-chan), and remains steadfastly present throughout his trials.

In terms of role within the narrative, Lemon acts as the main female lead and a recurring source of both comic relief and heartfelt support. She accompanies Mash through much of his school life, and her intense romantic antics often contrast with Mash's deadpan, straightforward personality. Her relationships with other characters are largely defined by this adoration: Dot Barrett develops a crush on her, but she does not reciprocate; she is friendly with Finn and the rest of Mash's circle, though her focus remains on Mash.

Lemon's personal magic is a binding-type ability she calls Levios. It allows her to materialize cuffs, chains, manacles, and other restraining equipment that ordinary people cannot break. This magic can be used both to bind opponents and, in an inverted form called Levios Cuffus Open, to release bonds, such as freeing a restrained creature. Her magical power is of an average level for a single-liner mage, and she wields a wand like most students. She also possesses enough agility to dodge attacks from a cerberus, and on occasion she displays surprising physical strength for comedic effect.

Over the course of the series, Lemon grows from a timid, easily frightened girl into someone who actively puts herself at risk for others, especially Mash, without hesitation. Her loyalty and earnestness never waver, and she continues to support him through increasingly dangerous events, never backing down even when the situation becomes life-threatening. By the story's conclusion, she moves into Mash's home without his knowledge, further cementing her role as his self-proclaimed partner.
