TV Special
Description
Nino Nakano is the second eldest of the Nakano quintuplets in the series. She is initially introduced as a strong-willed, assertive, and socially confident young woman with a sharp tongue and a blunt, direct manner of speaking. Among her sisters, she is the most openly hostile toward their tutor, Fuutarou Uesugi, actively rebelling against his presence early in the story. This outward defiance stems from a fierce protective instinct toward her family; she values the bond between the sisters above all else and will take on the role of the antagonist if she believes it is necessary to safeguard their unity. Despite her abrasive exterior, she possesses a deeply caring and sensitive nature, particularly toward her siblings. She naturally assumes the role of caretaker within the household, cooking meals for the family and looking after their medical needs, showcasing a responsible and nurturing side. Her cooking ability is exceptional, and she is widely considered the best cook among the quintuplets. Nino's personality is marked by a strong sense of pride and a refusal to be disingenuous about her feelings, yet she also carries an underlying vulnerability that she rarely shows openly. Her character undergoes significant development throughout the story. The initial antagonism toward Fuutarou gradually softens as she witnesses his genuine dedication to her and her sisters. A turning point occurs when she cuts her hair to shoulder length, a physical change that symbolizes her emotional growth and readiness to embrace change. She becomes the first of the quintuplets to openly confess her romantic feelings to Fuutarou, demonstrating a newfound courage and emotional honesty. As her feelings deepen, her approach becomes more bold and direct, and she actively pursues the relationship while striving to remain fair to her sisters. In her later years, after graduating from cooking school, she fulfills a childhood dream by opening her own café. Among the sisters, she is noted for her strong sense of responsibility, which can sometimes lead her to overthink or worry, but she remains a determined and loving presence within the family.
