Description
Emul is a non-player character from the world of Shangri-La Frontier, serving as one of the first significant companions the protagonist meets. She is a member of the Vorpal Bunny race, specifically hailing from the hidden nation of Rabituza. Her appearance is that of a small, bipedal white rabbit, standing approximately 40 centimeters tall. In her standard form, she is dressed in a stage magician’s outfit, complete with a top hat, a monocle, and carries a pocket watch and a spell book. She maintains this refined and slightly theatrical look, which is said to be reminiscent of a character from a story like Alice in Wonderland.

Emul possesses a distinct and memorable personality. She is consistently enthusiastic, hardworking, and genuinely driven to be helpful, especially to the player she is assigned to guide. Her speech is marked by a polite and somewhat old-fashioned verbal tic, giving her mannerisms a formal yet endearing quality. Despite her small size, she has a sharp and analytical gaze during battles, striving to keep up with the unpredictable combat style of her companion. While she is very attentive to her duties, she is not without her own desires and can be clever in negotiations, though her fondness for carrots is a notable weakness that can be used to persuade her. She does not particularly enjoy being the center of attention from other players and becomes startled when strangers try to hold her.

Emul’s background is tied directly to the main questline. She is sent by her father, Vysache, the leader of the Vorpal Bunnies, to find a player marked by the wolf-like monster Lycagon. Her role in the story begins when she finds Sunraku and uses her magic to open a gateway to Rabituza, initiating a unique scenario. After this introduction, her father officially assigns her to act as Sunraku’s guide and travel companion, a role she takes very seriously. Throughout the adventure, she acts not only as a guide but also as a key magical supporter and a source of moral support, often riding on Sunraku's head to serve as a mobile turret for her spells.

Her key relationship is with Sunraku, whom she accompanies faithfully. Their partnership evolves from a formal guide-and-charge arrangement into a strong, trusting friendship. She constantly worries about his reckless tendencies but is also swept along on his adventures, developing more courage and competence as a result of their time together. Her relationship with her father, Vysache, is also important; she holds him in high regard as her leader but sometimes reveals her filial affection by accidentally calling him father. She also has a very large family, being one of over twenty-six children. Her older sister, Bilac, is a notable character, and Emul’s magical abilities were originally taught by a legendary sorcerer among the rabbits named Dialle.

In terms of development, Emul starts as a relatively capable mage at level fifty-six but grows significantly through her battles alongside Sunraku, eventually surpassing level one hundred. While initially somewhat timid due to the permanent death mechanic for NPCs, she gains considerable bravery and becomes a more proactive and reliable fighter. Her abilities are vast and magical in nature. She is classified as a sorcerer and Vorpal Bunny Traveler. Her signature spells include Magic Edge, which fires a crescent-shaped magical attack from her book, and Add Spell, which boosts the power of her next spell. For control, she can use Magic Chain to bind enemies. She also possesses powerful but situational skills like Mana Shaker, which is devastating against creatures made of pure mana but useless against physical beings, and Random Encounter, a risky last-resort skill that summons a random monster from the area. One of her most notable utility abilities is Apport, a form of teleportation that allows her to create doorways to locations she has already visited. Using a special item called the Secret Vorpal Bracelet, Emul can use Metamorphose to temporarily transform into a human girl with pink hair, though this form consumes mana rapidly and can only be maintained for a few minutes without replenishment.
