Description
Kia the World Word is a young Forest Elf wizard and one of the most powerful beings introduced in the narrative of Ishura. She is fourteen years old and originally lived a peaceful life in a small village within the Eta Treeway, where her father worked as a tree health manager and her mother as a cloth maker. Her life was tranquil and without conflict until her extraordinary talents were discovered by Elea the Red Tag, the seventeenth minister of the Aureatia kingdom and the head of its spy network.
In terms of personality, Kia acts like a typical teenager, displaying a confident, arrogant, and loud-mouthed demeanor. She is described as childish, strong-willed, and slightly mischievous, often speaking in a straightforward manner without hesitation. Despite looking up to her mentor, Elea, she cheekily refers to her as "Viper," showing a boldness that contrasts sharply with the more gentle nature of other elves like Yawika. While she is aware of her immense power and does not shy away from showing it off, she also cherishes her simple and quiet village life.
Kia's primary motivation stems from Elea's political agenda. Elea intends to use Kia's unparalleled abilities to win the imperial hero selection tournament, a competition to determine the "True Hero" who can claim to have defeated the Demon King. Kia is on her way to the capital city of Aureatia to participate in this contest, where she is set to face numerous other formidable champions. Her role in the story is that of a singularly powerful asset, a "singularity beyond all else" who rejects analysis and prediction, making her a huge potential threat in the upcoming battles.
Her most significant relationship is with Elea the Red Tag, who acts as her mentor and political sponsor. Elea discovered Kia and is secretly grooming her to become the True Hero, a goal for which Kia is seemingly a willing participant. Kia is perceptive enough to see through Elea's deceptive methods as a spy, yet she continues to follow her, indicating a complex bond that mixes manipulation, respect, and necessity. Beyond Elea, Kia has been involved in events such as the rescue of Lana the Moon Tempest from a dungeon, where she demonstrated her power by erasing Lana's devastating Cold Star attack and extinguishing the resulting fires. She has also encountered dangerous figures like Higuare the Pelagic, a threat that was ultimately dealt with by another Shura, Nastique the Quiet Singer.
Kia's development is marked by her transition from an untrained but gifted girl in a remote village to a key player in the political and martial struggles of the wider world. Her power, known as Word Arts, allows her to warp reality and ignore the laws of nature with a single command. Unlike other Word Arts users who require long incantations, concentrated effort, and an adequate relationship to the target, Kia needs only to speak a word for its effect to manifest, whether it is making a seed grow and then reverting it, controlling the weather, altering the terrain, or commanding someone to die. Her power is described as "near-omnipotent," with limits that have yet to be measured, making her one of the most formidable characters in the series, though her reliance on speech could theoretically be a vulnerability against opponents who can strike faster than she can speak.
