Description
Dundarg is a significant character in the I Parry Everything series, recognized as a member of the Sovereign Six, a group of powerful protectors serving the Kingdom of Clays. Within this elite circle, he holds the title of the Shield Saint, a name bestowed upon him by the King of Clays himself with the declaration that Dundarg himself is the kingdom's shield. This title is notable because despite being called the Shield Saint, Dundarg does not use an actual shield in combat, relying instead on his own body and abilities to act as an immovable guardian.

Beyond his duties as a national defender, Dundarg also works as an instructor at the royal capital's warrior training facility, passing his knowledge and combat arts on to the next generation. He has a deep connection to Ines Harness, whom he took from an orphanage and raised as his own. He took on the dual role of mentor and father figure to her, teaching her everything about the art of combat and helping her harness her abilities, which include the Holy Shield power. This upbringing meant that Ines spent significant time at his side, even as she grew to become a warrior and the vice-captain of the Warrior Corps, as well as a personal maid and protector to Princess Lynne.

Dundarg's influence extends beyond his foster daughter. Years prior to the main events of the story, he took Noor under his wing for training in the arts of defense. During this time, Dundarg was able to perceive the vast and latent potential hidden within Noor, a potential so captivating that he even considered the possibility of raising the young trainee to become a truly invincible shield. These past experiences and his high praise for Noor's hidden power later become a source of jealousy for Ines, who strives to live up to the example of the student her father so admired. In his role as a member of the Sovereign Six and a master warrior, Dundarg serves as a foundational figure, directly shaping the skills of the next generation of heroes through his disciplined and perceptive mentorship. His primary motivation is the protection of his kingdom, a duty he fulfills not just as a living shield on the battlefield but also by creating powerful defenders like Ines. His entire character revolves around his ability to act as a steadfast guardian, both physically and through his teachings.
