TV-Series
Description
Nejire Hado is a third-year student at U.A. High School and one of the three most accomplished students in the school, known collectively as the Big Three, alongside Mirio Togata and Tamaki Amajiki. She is a tall, fair-skinned young woman with very long periwinkle-blue hair that reaches nearly to her knees, wide blue eyes with distinctive white pupils, and a frequent wide smile. She wears the standard U.A. uniform but often substitutes the blazer with a gray waistcoat, and her hero costume is a royal blue skin-tight bodysuit with pale mint green markings, yellow gloves, large wrist accessories, and black wraps on her thighs.

Nejire’s background reveals that during middle school, her natural curiosity about other people’s Quirks and physical traits was often misinterpreted as arrogance or condescension because of her own powerful ability. Other students shunned her, leading her to become cold and distant. Her personality changed when Tamaki Amajiki awkwardly approached her one day to ask about her favorite hero, and later Mirio Togata joined them. Their friendship helped Nejire open up and regain her confidence, eventually leading to the cheerful, enthusiastic, and endlessly curious person she is by the time of the main story.

Her most defining trait is an insatiable curiosity. She constantly asks rapid-fire, often invasive or bizarre questions about other people’s appearances, Quirks, and personal lives, sometimes coming across as blunt or airheaded. However, this inquisitiveness is matched by a genuinely kind heart, as seen when she gently cares for the young girl Eri, playing with her and doing her hair. Despite her seemingly ditzy demeanor, Nejire is remarkably rational and calm in battle. She rarely panics, can formulate strategies quickly, and shows no hesitation when facing dangerous villains. Her cheerful nature belies a fierce determination to protect others and contribute to hero society.

Nejire’s primary motivation is to become a hero who can use her strength to help people, and she draws inspiration from her mentors and peers. She holds deep admiration for her Big Three companions, especially Mirio, and strives to match their dedication. Her role in the story begins with the introduction of the Big Three to Class 1-A, where she immediately bombards the younger students with questions. She later participates in major operations such as the Shie Hassaikai Raid against Overhaul, the Paranormal Liberation War, and the final war against Tomura Shigaraki. During these events, she demonstrates her combat prowess, teamwork with heroes like Ryukyu (the Dragon Hero, whom she chose for her work studies) and fellow students Ochaco Uraraka and Tsuyu Asui, and her ability to hold her own against powerful enemies. She sustains injuries in the Paranormal Liberation War, including severe burns from Dabi that shorten her hair to chin length and leave a scar on her cheek, but she later heals and continues her training.

Her key relationships are with Mirio and Tamaki, who helped her find her true self and remain her closest friends and allies. She also forms a warm bond with Eri, acting as a protective and gentle older figure. Among the younger class, she particularly bonds with Ochaco and Tsuyu during their joint work studies under Ryukyu, praising their growth and leadership.

Nejire’s Quirk is called Wave Motion. It allows her to convert her own vitality and stamina into powerful spiral-shaped energy shockwaves that she can project from her hands and feet. These waves have high destructive power but travel in a spiral pattern, making them somewhat slower than a straight projectile. She can use the energy from her feet to fly or boost her physical attacks, and she can channel it into close-range strikes for extra force. The main drawback is that overuse rapidly drains her stamina, so she has trained extensively to build an immense reservoir of vitality, granting her superhuman endurance and durability. She has survived powerful attacks that would incapacitate most students, such as Dabi’s flames and a slash from Shigaraki, and continued fighting. Her tactical intelligence and adaptability make her a formidable combatant, capable of both wide-area devastation and precise support.

By the end of the series, Nejire graduates from U.A. and becomes a professional hero, continuing to protect society with her characteristic energy and skill. Her journey from a withdrawn, misunderstood girl to a confident, effective hero is a central part of her development, rooted in the camaraderie that allowed her to embrace her true nature.
