TV-Series
Description
Kento Cho is a fictional football player from the Blue Lock series who appears in the second season as a member of the Japan U-20 national team. Born on August 19, he is nineteen years old and hails from Fukushima Prefecture, where he lives with both of his parents as an only child. Before his involvement in the Blue Lock project, he played for the soccer team at Kuraku University. Standing at an imposing 193 centimeters tall with a right-footed preference, his physical presence is one of his most defining attributes, complemented by a grip strength of fifty-eight kilograms and visual acuity of 1.5. His blood type is AB, and his character color is beige.

Cho possesses a highly distinctive and somewhat eccentric personality. His outward demeanor is typically stoic and expressionless, which led fellow player Jyubei Aryu to mock him as a mannequin muscle man. Despite this impassive exterior, he is driven by an intense and almost philosophical ambition to become a super human being. This motto guides his every action, as he believes he is capable of doing almost anything and takes great pride in meeting the expectations of others. He has an unwavering, almost unshakable, self-confidence and genuinely enjoys having his super qualities recognized by those around him. Conversely, he becomes saddened or displeased whenever someone else performs a deed he considers more super than his own. Interestingly, he cannot identify any of his own weaknesses and acknowledges that this inability to see his flaws might itself be a problem. This unique worldview extends to his speech pattern, which is recognizable for its peculiar rhythm, as he often separates the first letter or character of his sentences from the rest of the word.

In the context of the story during the second season, Kento Cho is introduced as a starting forward for the Japan U-20 national team, specifically playing as a left winger. In the decisive match against the Blue Lock Eleven, he is utilized as a tall target player on the flank, using his physique to receive long passes. He receives a long, low pass from the talented midfielder Sae Itoshi, successfully controlling the ball. However, when he attempts to advance, his path is blocked by the tall defender Jyubei Aryu, forcing Cho to pass the ball to his teammate Teru Kitsunesato. He also manages to attempt one shot on goal during the match, but it is ultimately blocked by defender Ikki Niko. Following the defeat of the Japan U-20 team to the Blue Lock Eleven, Cho loses his position as a regular starter. Nevertheless, Jinpachi Ego recognizes his potential and recruits him for the second phase of the Blue Lock project after a two-week hiatus.

For the Neo Egoist League, Cho chooses to join the French league, aligning himself with the club Paris X Gen. He participates in the seventh match against the Spanish team, where his performance earns him an annual valuation of five million. However, this figure falls significantly below the threshold required to be selected among the final top twenty-three players, leading to his exclusion from the main representative squad at that stage. Despite this setback, he remains a respected player with considerable potential.

Kento Cho's key relationships on the field are largely defined by his interactions during the U-20 match. He demonstrates a tactical connection with Sae Itoshi, who trusts him enough to deliver a difficult long pass. His primary rivalry is a physical and verbal one with Jyubei Aryu, who blocks his advances and gives him the demeaning nickname. His development is marked by the transition from a member of the established Japan U-20 team to a participant in the cutthroat environment of Blue Lock. Though his initial foray into the Neo Egoist League does not result in immediate success, his selection for the project indicates a potential for future growth as he continues to chase his ideal of becoming a super human.

In terms of notable abilities, Cho's primary weapon is his tall height, which he uses effectively during post-play to hold up the ball and shield it from defenders. He considers himself a versatile player who can do almost anything on the pitch, with his main strengths being his physical strength, reactivity, and adaptability to tactical demands. He is a winger who aims to attack the opponent's goal, preferring to cut inside from the left flank. Off the pitch, his dedication to physical improvement is evident in his hobby of bodybuilding. His favorite professional player is Jude Bellingham, and his personal tastes include a love for American hot dogs, a dislike for whole fish due to the bones, and a preference for sea urchin as a rice accompaniment. He enjoys winter for the refreshing feeling the cold brings, listens to Also sprach Zarathustra, and counts 2001: A Space Odyssey and One Punch Man among his favorite film and manga, respectively. He has a noted preference for people with broad shoulders and good posture, and he famously turned down his first love confession at the age of six, judging that the person had no super qualities superior to his own.
